That is great!
Yes I love to cycle, I am from the cycling capital from the world though (Holland ;)) hehe, here everybody bicycles. But I love love love it, not just because it is common here.
The cold stormy rainy winters are a little less enjoyable than the summery rides though :p
I have to ask this, the gorgeous dog in your profile picture, is that a Kuvash?
What a beauty

Very cool.... I am trying to learn cycling through Albuquerque well enough that I can bike to work and back. I may end up having to ride public transportation along with biking just so I can minimize my need to ride along side cars here. Considering it that way, biking to work now sounds doable!
Since I just basically learned how to ride a bike, I am making sure I bike 8-10km 3 or 4 times a week. It does not sound like much, but I am already starting to feel a little more physically fit. I plan to keep on upping my goal as I get fitter and as the city finishes repairs on the trail. I've got the occasional "Trail Closed" sign blocking me.

I owned no car and biked for over 5 years. Graduated from college, got a car for $200, drove for a while. Gas prices went up. Had to start paying student loans back.
Let my insurance go, quit driving again recently and I'm back on 2 wheels as of a few weeks ago.
In the case of inclement weather, I either have rain gear or there are bus stops right by my apartment complex.
Gas is ridiculously high. Insurance was basically just eating a hole in my pocket.
It's a win-win situation. :)

I ride my bike just about every day to work and to get around town. I'm moving back to a city situation in 2 weeks and plan to get rid of my car for good once that happens. Cars are money pits and I, personally, don't really need one.
I'm glad to hear you're getting into cycling. It's WAY addictive. Plus it's great for your health and the environment!! How can you go wrong with that??

I ride strenuously and recreationally 6 hours/week.
My bike is also my primary mode of transportation.

My bicycle is my primary mode of transportation.
I do own a vehicle, however I rarely use it. Mostly to go visit family, or as of late, to go look at house/land. I've been really considering getting rid of the vehicle and relying on my bike, but I haven't make that commitment.
