I've been going to pet stores where I live. The dog toys they sell are so boring. The type of dog toy that I am looking for is a robot dog toy, so my dog can play with it. Does anyone here know if they make robot dog toys? Is it safe for dogs to play with? Does anyone have one? How much does it cost and where can I buy it? I am looking for one that has fake dog hair or something like that to make it harder for the dog to destroy.

yeah, I didn't know where to post it. It's just a toy of a dog that moves around and barks. It might cost, depending on which one, like 20 dollars or something. I don't know. I remember I saw one when I was like 12. I am 22 now.

I don't think most dogs would enjoy playing with the robot dogs that are out on the market. My dogs would find such a thing annoying or stupid. But yes, ipets and robot dogs are out everywhere at all sizes and cost ranges. Check out Toys R Us.

What you need is a robotic (or remote control) giant mouse.

I've always found that the more complex toys I think are awesome are the ones my animals ignore. I often feel the same way when I'm looking at cat toys but you gotta think like the animal you're buying for. All the toys are the same old thing because thats what dogs like.

I bought the big robot mouse...cats and roomie's dog were afraid of it. Once they got over being afraid they just decided it was annoying (and so did I, I'm almost glad they didn't like it).

Every dog we've ever met loves the Bobo (and we like it too)...

Awww, that's the one that cute little daschund carries around in the Petsmart commercials.

My dogs would shred Bobo in a matter of minutes.

Bear, my lab/newfoundland mix, loves this plush squeaky toy (http://www.petsmart.com/global/product_detail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=84552444178 0835&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302026213&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=2534374302023689&bmUID=1183226077423&itemNo=33&Nao=24&In=Dog&N=2026213&Ne=2). It's his "baby". I toss it around the house for him, play tug, he grooms it, carries it around when he's happy people have come over. It's a fairly big size; the biggest I ever see when I go to petsmart.

He also loves his purple elephant (http://www.vo-toys.com/catalog/detail.php?BEID=6059) and there's a dog (http://www.vo-toys.com/catalog/detail.php?BEID=6075) by the same brand. They are both his babies.

For his harder teethy stuff, he loves the Kong AirDog toys (http://www.dog-training.com/kongairdog.htm) - the bone and the stick are the ones he's had before.

Right now, I only have one of his babies and a couple of the dental rope bones.

Max, my Rhodesian, will eat a plush toy a day. He loves to get the squeeker out. I can't imagine what he would do to a robot.

I have found that the heavy duty rope toys from Old Navy will last him a week or two. He also likes to play tug of war with the other dogs.

My roommate got his dog one of those stuffed monkeys they sell at petsmart that make ape noises when you chew them. She took it from him, held it down on the ground by it's little arms and proceded to spend about 30 min ripping it's throat out and pulling bits of stuffing out. It was really funny.
