I am curious if anyone has any personal experiences or any insight that they can share with me on this. I have a 13 yr old brother who has been sleepwalking. The first incident occurred a couple months ago. He woke up in the middle of the night crying/screaming that he was in pain. He said his whole body ached him. He was sweating profusely and was extremely hot, his eyes were bloodshot and kept rolling back in his head. It was the first nice weekend of the year and he had spent the entire weekend skateboarding with his friends so my family assumed that he was so sore because of all the physical activity from it (using muscles he hadnt used during the winter). But when we talked to him about it he had no memory of skateboarding or even knowing who his friends were that he had went with. My mom got ready to take him to the emergency room but he ended up falling back asleep and being okay. The next morning he didnt remember any of it.
The second incident occurred at his friends house. While sleeping over he got out of bed in the middle of the night and went downstairs. His friends father found him in the living room just standing there and asked him what he was doing. My brother mumbled things that didnt make any sense and went back upstairs and went to bed. Again he didnt recall any of this until the father told him about it the next morning.
A couple weeks ago around 1am I hear my brother stumble out of bed and running down the hall screaming for my mom. I jump out of bed and see if he's okay. He is burning up, eyes bloodshot again and it looks like he had just poured a bucket of water over his head because he's sweating so bad. He is clutching his stomach asking for my mom. I try to calm him down and ask him if there is something wrong with his stomach. He says over and over "It hurts. I'm having a baby. I'm having a baby". My 11 yr old sister is in the room and starts laughing because she thinks he's joking but the look on his face is serious and he looks like he's in so much pain. I start screaming for my mom also because he's totally freaking me out. My mom comes running out of her room and calms him down and he ends up falling back asleep. The next morning I ask him if he remembers any of it , this time he does remember but thought it was all a dream, including my sister laughing and my mom and I trying to calm him down.
The last incident happened a couple days ago. Again he comes running out of his room in the middle of the night (same symptoms as before, sweating, bloodshot eyes, burning up) but this time he is hyperventilating. He says he is scared of passing out. His eyes again keep rolling in back of his head. My mom has him lie down and tries to calm him. She asks him if something happened with his friends or at school to make him so panicky. He has no clue who she is talking about. She mentions their names but he cant remember any of his friends. Eventually he falls asleep and the next morning doesnt remember any of this.
I have heard of adults sleepwalking and doing crazy things like cooking, walking out of the house and even driving then not remembering any of it the next day but it doesnt seem too common in someone his age. Has anyone experienced this ? It is scaring me. Its very freaky and disturbing especially when he cant remember things like his friends and what he did that day, etc. He has been stressed out about school, his gf , and his friends so maybe thats a factor also? I'm not really sure. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
