View Full Version : Ignore people!

Why do people always gripe over certain words and take them seriously. I post it here since I most notice it in youth. Who gives a **** what Johnny or Alanah said. Why the heck do people care so much. I suppose that I am just fussing because it seems the more I go on in years, the more the world becomes whinny about this and that.
Also just general actions by others can make people mad or take offense. The only thing that should force you to acknowledge someone you do not like, is if they attack you.
I am not trying to preach as a peace loving flower power guy since I am anything but. I just get annoyed by the ignorance when I have to hear people griping in my home about what someone else did. Just as well at school, thankfully though for summer!
Just remember, there are millions of people. Bound to be that you hate (or just do not want to associate with) more than you like. It is our nature to, we may not hate most right now, but I bet if you met all of them with good time you would.

I don't exactly understand what you are getting at. I agree that it can be annoyng when people unneccessarily whine and complain about something that does not effect them or is none of their business, but people need to stand up for themselves if someone is verbally abusing them. You can't let people get to you too much, but you also can't let them walk all over you either.
As for the "world becoming whiny", sometimes the first step in getting positive change is to talk about it and make the issue known (such as Al Gore with the global warming issue).

Not when there outside my door screaming. I am the only male and there is my mom, and two twin sisters both on the verge of teen. It is like hell.

Sorry, I am half way awake and did not sleep tonight. I have sleep issues so yeah. I was not generally talking about standing up for ones self. But that also is a point, unless your looking to impress someone, tell the jerk to go screw themselves than make off on your way ignoring them. Just know you have an even chance to win if they want to fight because it is likely to happen today.
I meant more such as how when a person on tv makes a racial comment (common lately) and gets canned or becomes unpopular. That is alright with me, they deserve to be canned, but you do not need to talk about it for weeks on tv than a bunch of random opinionated people around town talk about it (them people who read about other peoples lives in magazines). Sure they deserved it, but there are many other people in the world who do the same thing and I don't want them on tv for weeks either.
Blah, I guess I am just ranting in general about how big of softies people have become. Everyone takes everything to heart now days and just don't know when to ignore someone. Even some of the music today we have is creepy nearing a stalker level. If someone leaves you, do not write them a song and tell them that you will wait for them forever or those songs singing about how they will watch over you.
Just a lot of things I am noticing. A softness and a lack of expecting better for our country so accepting less (US). Now days most don't have any sort of pride for there country here, and some will even talk down about it (understandably because it seems we are going downhill).
Someone can kill this post if they want. It was mostly my mindless trash since I am currently sleep deprived (forgot to get more sleeping pills) and do not got a friend around to stop me from using a computer.

I think that a problem with the U.S. is that we pay too much attention to the unimportant things that we don't have time to take on serious issues. Such as, Paris Hilton all over the news because of her arrest when we should be paying more attention to stopping the pointless war in Iraq and starting troop withdrawal. Sometimes by giving people even negative attention, we are giving them exactly what they want. There is a time for ignoring those kinds of people, but there is also a time to take a certain action (such as Virginia Tech) and make people aware of the real threat before it occurs again. There is a lot of focus on the negative sides of things in media today. People can be so caught up in the aftermath of things that they don't take the time to fix the problem (e.g. the War in Iraq).

We need to be like Russia. I heard there is a new rule that half the news there has to be good news. Don't know if it was true but a friend told me he heard about it. Sounds like a good idea.

Too bad "good news" is subjective.
It seems to me like people tend to focus on trivial issues or as Alison said issues after everything has been said or done because they don't want to put the effort into fixing or making the best out of a situation, but they need something to freak out over. Possibly avoiding a more important personal issue.

You need to place extra restrictions on the media?

It was more of a joke. However, I think that we do spew out to much useless crap that is negative. The things that are important, sure I want to hear about them, but I do not want them spewing out uselessness when they could try to say something to make people a little happier that day. :vebo:
