I am in shock - I actually liked a vegan cheese! I had tried some vegan cheeses in the past, and was almost sickened by them! But I only tried the cheddar versions, when those were gross I didn't want to waste my money trying a different flavor! But I took the plunge and bought some vegan gourmet mozzarella and made a pizza with it today, and it was fantastic! VERY mild flavor, and I got the look and feel of cheese on my pizza! I can't wait to try a vegan lasagna now with an actual cheese topping...

Vegan Gourmet Mozzarella is really pretty good. The Montery Jack isn't bad, either. My only complaint is that they tend to go bad quickly, so use them up in couple of days.

Wish I could try Cheezly!

I hear vegan gourmet cheese freezes well. I haven't tried it cuz that stuff goes fast at my house.

Oh, and the cheddar and nacho flavors are pretty awesome too.

I froze the vegan gourmet cheddar...it was not very good once I defrosted it...kind of got all crumbly and separated...didn't change the taste, though.

I love the mozzarella flavor, but I don't really care for the cheddar. I haven't tried the nacho.

I always freeze it, but instead of thawing it, I just shred the frozen block right onto my pizza or any other dish I'm using it in.

i also love the mozzarella- mainly because there isn't any vinegar, sugar, or nutritional yeast in it (yay- miracle! vegan cheese i can eat!).

oh, and cos its melty. its not at all bad on pizza, i haven't put in/on anything else yet... cos i keep making pizza now.

i grate my leftover bits and then freeze it in a ziplock bag. it falls to bits, but that just means its more finely grated, right? hehehe.

it goes a bit watery if you let it defrost... so i suggest people don't do that unless they like watery cheese.

Jen, that's a good point about defrosting it. That's why I grate it frozen, so it doesn't get all watery.

the vegan gourmet cheeses taste super cheesy if you sprinkle nutritional yeast on top...also if you grate it and put it in a container let it sit in the fridge it seems to taste better to me.
i put it on pizza with a pest sauce and chick'n strips and its pretty darn tasty
