Was thinking again from the post about training cats to use a person toliet. Which I've heard saves lots of money in kitty litter.

Yes get ready for another random thought/thoery form your truly...
What about real toliets for companion animals?. The needs city and town people have for daily walking and pooper scooper activites take a lot of time and commitment as well all those millions of kitty litter trays.
Plus think of all those people who or keep indoors cats out of their beliefs systems or because they live areas too dangerious to let them out...That's a lot of kitty litter.

They could be like potties that sit on the floor with some kind of adapters that could hook up to existing person toliets. Maybe some kind of flat piping that would hook up to the person toliet bowl and so each time the companion animal toliet was flashed, wastes would be pumped up into the person toliet.

Cat toilets would probably be a lot like current kitty litter trays and dog toilets would probably have to be more flat. One would probably have to include some kind of odor control device as well since probably many dogs and cats would not be flushing and the toilets would probably have to be left open at all times. Dog toilets would probably be the focus, since cats can be trained to leap up on peoples' toilets. Someone has already designed a dog litter box, so it should not be so difficult to train a dog to go to the bathroom on a flat doggy toilet then this or a wee pad.

Dogs could just go into the bathroom and go when they had to go instead of waiting for their guardians to return from work for their bathroom breaks.
The pooper scooper thing would be a thing of the past, because instead of that, people would be out recreating with their dogs instead of the ole potty break walks.
Maybe there would be less dog feces scattered about to become a nusense to the general public.

Companion animals with incontence sp? problems would no longer face hardships from their guardians ( such as being locked in a cellor etc) since they would be free to go to the bathroom as needed. I have heard of companion animals being put to sleep because they peed around too much due to medical issues.

And finally...
Maybe it would allow more disabled people to take in animals as it would make care easier. I feel that companion animals are invaluble for the disabled, esepecially those who may be home bound.

The drawback maybe?...wonder what the pressure on the water treatment system would be with wide spread use of these companion animal toilets would be?...
Maybe many dogs would never be excised anymore because it would not longer be necessary.
You'd need to buy those adapters and have a place to plug in (install outlets $$) for this new toilet which I assume would an electric pump involved.
Maybe the odor control would not be effective, esepecially for larger dogs so guardians might have to live with a stinky bathroom a lot.

Sounds like you ought to invent it!

I've already got one. It's called the bathroom floor. :) In Korea, very few places have bathtubs. In most places, you shower directly on the floor, so the entire floor tilts towards the drain. My older dog was trained years ago to use the bathroom in the bathroom whenever he couldn't or didn't want to wait. (Unfortunately, my younger dog is much too prissy to agree to use it.)

Maybe we should all use Asian style toilets, where you squat over a 'hole in the ground'?
It would be healthier for us and easier for animals to use.
My companion animals and I have a 2.5 acre toilet!
