Hey..
my sister's boyfriend loves coke products (like, things that say cokecola)...
So, they do the coke points thing (www.mycokerewards.com). I've recently also started, but don't drink really any coke products. If anyone does, and doesn't use their points...and wouldn't mind typing them out to me..that would be incredibly awesome. Please PM me with unused codes. THANK YOU.

I think that's why Chelsea said:

I don't think she intended this to be a debate thread.

I tend to speak out when I see something that's unethical and, in this case, I think that people need to know about this company before they support it financially.
Informed choice.

I usually drink generic because it's cheaper, but I do prefer Coke products, so if i get any points I'll let you know.

Your choice, but supporting a company that sells toxic waste to farmers for fertilizer and depriving them of the water needed to grow food for their families is on a par, in my opinion, with supporting animal abuse.

hmmm. there seem to be some posts here that seem pretty unrelated to frugality... in the context which the OP intended.. at least. perhaps they'd be better off in their own thread?
i don't drink coke, but if i see any points floating about, i'll pass 'em on.

Getting 'rewards' at the expense of those less fortunate then us is not frugality but selfishness.

mod post
This is not the place for debating the morality of a product. If you'd like to debate Coke products and the company's practices, take it to the Compost Heap. Any further off topic posts will be deleted and an infraction will be issued.
Thanks for your cooperation.

Thank you. And, No I didn't. Take the debate on coke, and all the other companies out there, to the compost heap. Thanks.

Psst...read the thread.
If you want to know what Coke Points are, follow the link in the first post.
As for Coke being evil, that discussion is for another thread.

"If you want to know what Coke Points are, follow the link in the first post."
If you follow the link in the first post, you will be taken to a page that mentions coke points, but does not provide an explanation of what they are, nor is there any link on that page which says that it points to an explanation.

Soilman, click the "Take A Tour" link on that website, www.mycokepoints.com, and it explains what the points are. Basically you get points for buying Coke products and those points can be redeemed for prizes.
For example, if you collect 13,125 points you can get a free HD DVD Player.
You get 3 points for each 2 litter that you buy.

I'm not aiming for any one thing...
but my sister's boyfriend loves the coke logo stuff for whatever reason, so I was hoping to be able to 'buy' him something.

I'm collecting the points. You get 3 pts per bottle cap on 20 oz bottles of all Coke products (including the lemonades and Dasani water) and 10 points for each 12 pack package.
I get the caps not only from my self but also Mom gives me hers and I've got a few other people at work who give me their caps.
Actually a lot of the options don't have the Coke logo, you can get music downloads and magazine subscriptions. However I decided instead of several smaller things I'm going to save up for something higher end, but I'm not sure what.
