I'm new to the tri world but am having a blast. Who else has been bitten by the triathlon bug? :nana:

Hopi :)

I'm a triathlete!! I've been doing tri's for about 7 years now. Welcome to the sport!

Sweet! Nice to meet you. What lengths of tris have you done?

I focus on Ironmans, but I'll jump into half's and olympics when I'm gearing up for a big race. What distance do you do?

Nice!! I'd love to build up to Ironman distance. I've only competed in two sprints so far, but I'm hooked. Got a third coming up in June! :) I've been training for the Oly distance; now I just have to find a race. :)

How are the tris going hopi100 ?

My sister-in-law used to compete in sprint distance.

I was seriously considering competing but the time commitment just proved to be too much (I need a lot of work on the swim)

Hi, Jamer! The tris are going well so far. I've got one a week from now that I'm really looking forward to. It's nice to have a few races behind me so I can go in to the next one a bit more laid-back (but only a bit ;)).

You should totally train for a tri. The swim will improve quicker than you think -- and hey, it's always the shortest distance of the race! ;)

very cool!!!!
Good luck! you'll have to post how you did.

It wouldn't be too much of a stretch to do tri
I'm okay at the run and bike. Just need to work on the swim. I think it's just that large thrashing group of swimmers that is intimidating to me

Well, I finished in a whopping 2:16. Not nearly as fast as my last sprint tri, but this time around I had to contend with about a dozen steep hills in as many miles. But I'm done, and the soreness has passed -- and now I can't wait for the next one! :)

That's still awesome!!! All courses are not created equal.
When is your next race? Do you have one targeted yet?

I have only done one tri. It was a lot of fun but I got bitten by the running bug while training for it. :)

Hi, Jamer! Yep, I have another race planned for August in Maryland. I'm really looking forward to it and can't wait to test out the course in a few weeks. I understand it, too, is quite hilly, so you can bet I'll be putting in more hours heading up, up, up before race day!

And CaptainSwab, I'm with you on the running bug. I was never a "runner" growing up, even though I almost always played sports. But training for these triathlons has really shown me the joys of pounding out the pavement. And now I'm training for a marathon -- have I lost my mind?! ;)

How's everybody else doing?

Ok, so I have a new found respect for you triathletes (not that I didn't respect you guys before;)). I've been biking to work a lot (about 12 miles each way) and then running in the evening a few days a week and man are my legs tired during the run! Not that I'm trying to train for a triathalon or anything. I just wanted to say "way to go!!" to you guys!! :D
