Why is it that when my roomate finds out there may be e coli in some fresh spinach, he wants me to throw out all my fresh and frozen spinach, even though none of it was from the one organic grower whose washed spinach was not washed as well as they thought, but when he finds out that melamine has been fed to chickens, and that there may be millions of chickens from numerous flocks that have been fed melamine and then slaughtered and packaged for sale all over the US, he says oh well, and continues to buy chicken?

Because everybody knows it's ok and healthy to go through life without a single green vegetable, but NOBODY can live without CHICKEN! :D

Funny, yet sad. This is EXACTLY what people think. Our whole society has been conditioned to see meat as their sole source of just about every vitamin and nutrient, when in fact they all can be found in veggies, except B12 (well it CAN be found in veggies, just not in most first world countries ;)).

Nauseating, isn't it?
