OK, I have this ocean like noise/hissing in my right ear. Ive been to 2 doctors and 2 ENT's and all seem to be reluctant to give me an MRI. Ive had a hearing test, and my hearing is superb. Lets see, when it was worse, I would rub my eye the side of the tinnitus, and my ear noise would start to rumble. That has gone, but it still happens when I bend down to pick up something. If I open my ears and sniff hard, I would hear a pocket of air come out of my ear. I can only hear this when its really quiet. If I turn my head upside down and back up, the noise is gone for a little bit. When I yawn, it sounds like hurricane type winds are blowing in my ear. anyone feels these symptoms? im really freaking out here.

i'm having ear issues too. i don't have an ocean noice, i have an intermittant ultrasound noise instead- its my own pulse, but loud, muffled and annoying (lol) which isn't affected by moving my head or sniffing or rubbing the side of my face, or anything.. it just comes and goes a couple times a day.

i sympathise- i bet its driving you nuts (mine is). its really hard to focus on anything else when there is a crazy noise right in your ear, and its so frustrating to not be able to fix it yourself. friggin ears....grrrrr!

what did your ENT's say? i've not seen a specialist.

in my hugely uneducated opinion (everything i've learned about ears comes from googling trying to fix/work out what is wrong with my own stupid malfunctioning ear) yours sounds like something is going on in your eustacian tubes to me. like i'd know anything (i wouldn't). i'm curious as to the doctors conclusion, or what professional diagnosis you were given, though. did they say it might be the result of a sinus infection or a head cold or recent air travel?

incidently, my ears always do the hurricaine wind thing when i yawn too... i think thats pretty normal pressure changing stuff- they often pop when i swallow or blink, if i clench my jaw in a specific manner, too.

sorry i probably wasn't any help- all i have to offer is empathy i guess. good luck with it though!

Sounds like ear pressure maybe. This can act up on elevators, planes, etc. Perhaps you have spring allergies that are causing fluid in the ears resulting in ear pressure or something?

well i hope it really is nothing but pressure. i had the flu yesterday and everytime i tried to unplug my ears, the tube in my ear kept making funny noises. my doc said it was allergies causing eustachian tube dysfunction. but i have a hard time trusting doctors these days.
