I've been switching shampoos and conditioners a lot lately in an attempt to find a good/all natural alternative to what I used to use (which was VO5) and I was just wondering if anyone had any recommendations? I want something that can give me lots of volume cause my hair is kind of flat and thin and I also want something that smells really good and is still all natural. I've been using Jason Natural Lavender lately and it's ok, but I'm still open to other suggestions. Thanks!

I don't really know. I use stuff from Bath & Body Works.

Have you tried using Google to do searches or check larger stores in your area on their product websites?

Whole Foods might have something.

I mean I've seen a lot of different products that look like they would be ok, but I just wanted to hear from people that had tried them already and hear what other people are using. Thanks for the suggestion though, I will try doing some online searches and stuff. =]

Understandable. Sorry I can't be of more help.

You might even be able to find other threads on it here on the VeggieBoards.

Matter of fact, this thread on Avalon Organics (http://www.veggieboards.com/boards/showthread.php?t=68551&highlight=Hair+products) says that the shampoo and conditioner is great.

Oh, here's another thread (http://www.veggieboards.com/boards/showthread.php?t=67751&highlight=Hair+products) on hair care products that fellow VBers use and love.

I like Nature's Gate Chamomile shampoo in terms of more natural hair care. I currently use Paul Mitchell which is vegan, but not very natural-y.

I also liked JASON Henna Hi-Lights.

I just started using all natural stuff (don't know the brand), but it's awesome. I think any shampoo that is all natural is great. No chemicals. My hair is fabulous now, more than ever, and it's always been fabulous ;).

I love the shampoo bars from Lush. They're pretty expensive, but they last for aaaaages so it works out.

Their 'veganese' conditioner is really delicious (don't eat it!) too...mmm...but this is expensive and doesn't last particularly long.

I don't know if these count as 'all natural' though.

I recently got into soapmaking and have been using homemade soap/shampoo bars along with an apple cider vinegar rinse in place of conditioner... my hair has been so soft and shiny. I don't ever want to go back to commercial products!

I also use Nature's Gate Hemp. I like it because it is natural, it works better than many that I've tried, and best of all: I can afford it!

I use my vegan bath soap as shampoo. Its really moisturizing but it leaves my hair really curly. But hey it looks good.

If you can afford it, Ojon is great, its natural and it works, the shampoo is fine but the conditioning paste is like shea butter for hair. It relaxes bad frizz without being sticky. Saw it on QVC and got it on offer. It was not cheap, so I only use it for special occasions. You can also get it at www.ojon.com.

For a cheaper shampoo and conditioner, Aussie Moist shampoo and Miracle leave in conditioner is good value.

I have extra frizzy hair and it was hard to find good hair care products that were not tested on animals AND actually works!

I love Natures Organics. We have the shampoo/conditioner, body wash & hand soap. It's so cute- they have a little bunny on them that says Cruelty free on it. Haha I love going shopping I talking alittle louder than normal so the person next to me can hear when I'm looking for something that's not tested on animals. Oh & I like picking up products I know that have halal gelatin in them & making a scene. Makes some people think twice about what they're buying when they figure out what it is. Or I subtely comment to my bf about someone else's trolley in hope they might look for something different next time.

My all time favorite shampoo/condition comes from Victoria's Secret. According to Peta, they don't test on animals :) When you use them, it makes the whole shower smell SOOOOO good.

So Sexy Shampoo (http://www2.victoriassecret.com/commerce/application/prodDisplay/?namespace=productDisplay&origin=onlineProductDisplay.jsp&event=display&prnbr=ZP-188550&page=1&cgname=OSHARPOOZZZ&rfnbr=2556&pn=false)

I've tried the stuff from Trader Joe's... loved the smell, but the conditioner made my hair hard to comb out. I wish I had Whole Foods nearby so I could try out a ton of different ones.

the whole foods 365 brand is cruelty-free - no animal ingredients in it (as pretty much 99% out there do have animal ingredients - it's disgusting) and no animal testing - and it's fairly cheap ... yummy scents ... one is grapefruit and another is peppermint ...

for more info on buying cruelty-free products - those without animal ingredients, see PETA's article at http://www.caringconsumer.com/resources_ingredients_list.asp

I bought these at my local Superstore/Extra foods

http://www.naturesorganics.com.au/haircare_fruits.htm

Natures Organics "fruits" shampoo and conditioners. No animal testing and no animal ingredients. Not expensive either at $2.49 each. Initially, I bought them for the kids, but I really like them (and I admit that I'm a bit of a shampoo snob).

I just ordered some of that, I've heard so many good things about it.
