I want to enter a competition where you have to pitch an idea for a video about recycling. The film is to be 3 minutes in length, if you get picked, you go on to make the film and it gets on TV. If I come up with a good idea I might do it anyway.

I have to send the idea by Monday, so not much time. Does anyone have any suggestions. It'd have to be something I could film in and around London.

Ideas I've had so far....

1, Talking to my local council, who are always praised for their efforts in recycling, but still don't offer plastic recycling!

2, Difficulties and solutions of living in a flat, when it comes to recycling.

3, Standing next to some recycling bins and interviewing whoever comes to recycle stuff.

4, Trying to find some people who recycle clothes, and get them to demo a few things.

So if anyone else has any ideas or suggestions, that would be great!

#3 sounds like it has the most potential to be different from other films.

It's also the least amount of work for me, as seen as I can see a recycle point from my window. I could go shoot it now.

Though in some ways ways I'd like to do something a bit more challenging. I need to check to see if I can do more than one idea, and if they'd allow foreign travel. I have a great idea for one in Africa.

I knew a guy in Southern New Mexico who took a group of school children to the city dump to promote recycling and, using just stuff pulled from the dump, built a really huge roadrunner.

Maybe you could do something with a London theme.

That does look really cool! I'm not sure if it's really what I'm after doing for this, as it sounds like he only did it the 1 time. If he did it regularly it might work better.

I've found out about a recycling making art festival happening in London, on at the same time I'd need to film, so I'd probably go with that.

That's amazing!

And as far as your ideas go, Kat, I think your third one sounds like the most fun, and sounds like it'd be pretty interesting.
