Almond Milk
Category: Raw Foods

Suitable for a: vegan diet


Ingredients:

1 cup soaked almonds
3-5 cups filtered water (depends on how rich you want your milk to be)
dates, agave syrup, vanilla for flavoring (optional)


Instructions:
------------------------------------------------------

Soak almonds for at least 12 hours, or until plump.
In a high speed blender, blend almonds with the water.
Strain the almond milk through a seive, or cheese cloth.
Reserve the pulp to make raw crackers, breads, facials, desserts, etc. Don't throw this stuff away! It is useful in many ways.
Flavor your almond milk to taste:
blend with dates, agave syrup, or sweetener of your choice for a sweet almond milk
Add vanilla for vanilla almond milk
Blend some carob or cocoa powder, salt, and vanilla for chocolate almond milk.

Sounds great. How many ounces does this yield?

Also, what would the shelf life be?
