i lost around 3 1/2 stone 18 months ago and only needed to loose around another 1/2 stone, but the last year has been a very hard one and i ended up gaining 1/2 stone instead of losing it! so now i have another stone to budge(which i know il do through diet, especially now im going vegan and dont have all that yummy chocolate and cakes to tempt me! lol i actually ate my last milk chocolate last night-yay!)

at the moment the only excersise i do is on a treadmill and rowing machine(i suffer from agoraphobia so this is the only equipment i have access to at home) but i know neither of these is really going to help with giving me the flat tummy i once had! is there any other exercises i could be doing at home to help tone my thighs and tum?

I think you need to do cardio to get a flat tummy, so you can lose the fat in front of/around the muscle. But someone may come along and correct me if I'm wrong. :)

yeah janie you're right. cardio is important to get a flat tummy cuz that's how you burn any fat sitting there. If you want to build up the muscles of your abs, you should do a variety of ab exercises to hit the different muscles there (upper, lower, obliques). I personally like to do crunches, reverse crunches and bicycle. Anyway I'm sure otherh people on here have more fitness expertise than myself, so I'll let them step in and elaborate.

I'd say cardio combined with muscle toning exercises like situps.

I think stepper machines are good for toning thighs and bums. You can get small ones that will fit in the corner of a room.
