hello all, am trying to cut some costs around the homestead and am wondering what everyone recommends as a substitute for store-bought eye makeup removers? i searched the old threads but didn't arrive at a clear consensus : ) i've been using earth science for some time (and love it!) but again, currently pinching pennies.....help?

You can use any oil. I wash my face with jojoba oil or grapeseed oil or olive oil or coconut oil. All of them remove waterproof make up.

I use a microfiber face-cloth (the ones I have are by Norwex - but I'd guess any good quality one would work). It takes off even water-proof mascara with just water.

I was going to suggest coconut oil as well, it's great for all sorts of things but I especially like it for eye-make-up removal as it isn't 'greasy' feeling afterwards.

And the oils I suggested won't clog your pores & break you out if you have problems with that.

Ditto on the jojoba oil. I use it to remove eyemakeup. Even waterproof mascara. And I also use OCM, Jessica! Yay for cleaning with oils :D

I don't do the actual OCM. I did for like 2 days, but I don't have the patience to wait like 2 mins and rinse the washcloth and all that. lol

so olive oil is ok? What about corn oil? I have corn and soy bean oil at my house at the moment. Not too excited about buying olive oil.

um yeah, jojoba didn't work all that well for me? i don't know if i wasn't using enough? i didn't want to use too much since it's oily and such....yet for the amount i poured out to use, a little did *not* go a long way??
