Once after eating a toasted bagel last week and yesterday after eating some dry cereal, immediately after I could feel something on the inside of my left cheek and looked in the mirror and it was a blister filled with blood. I pop them and then they hurt a little (hardly) on that spot, but go away in a few days.
Now, I've had sores in my mouth before on occasion, but never something with blood in them. Not much on the net fitting the description. My mother suffered from pemphigus (a rare autoimmune blistering condition that can also affect the mouth) but from what I've read, those sores don't heal quickly like these have.
Anybody ever get this? I'm due for a dentist appt so will ask him, but I'm a bit concerned since it wasn't just a one time oddity.

As far as I know they are completely normal and very common, I have them sometimes myself. In fact, I noticed I had one last night, which is why I'm answering you straight away now- very topical!
I don't see they can be dangerous in any way, so don't you worry.

I don't consider it normal, but I agree, it can't be dangerous if it heals by itself.
forthebirds: Ask your dentist. No need to worry.

Could they be aphthous ulcers?
I have them all the time, because of allergies to certain vegetables and fruits (I choose to use those allergens even still because I have so many allergies that otherwise I could eat practically nothing..).
Do they look anything like this:

If they are ulcers, then I know some treatments that help me:
- try to avoid common allergens (do not eat them at large amounts at least) that are citrus fruits, berries, kiwi fruits and tomatoes - and common toothpastes (try the ones without sodium laurenth sulfate).
- there are clear patches that help, you can find from your pharmacy
- echinacea drops help: you can either spread the drops to the ulcer with your finger or by cotton buds, if the ulcer tingles while you spread the drops it will help - that's a pretty good indicator
- antiseptic products will also help, try mouthwashes
