These are raw vegan fruit & nut bars available in UK shops. I saw them in tesco yesterday and I had never seen anything like them in the UK so even though I'm not a raw foodist I decided to try them. They come in 3 flavours - Apple Pie, Coco Loco and something about berries. I bought one Coco Loco one and one Apple Pie one, so I haven't tried the berry one yet.
The packaging is very cute, with a bee on, and they also grabbed me with all those buzzwords that I fall for when shopping - "all natural raw vegan no added sugar gleefully made in the uk" they say, along with "100% natural wholefood". The Coco Loco one tastes of cake mix kinda, but not in a great way. One one hand, if I was a 100% raw foodist who craved chocolate I might buy it and it might settle the craving. On the other hand, I eat cooked food and I would much rather eat dark chocolate/rice milk chocolate.
The apple pie one is pretty good though. It tastes appley and cinnamony and it has nuts to give it a bit of substance. I looked up the company (www.naturalbalancefoods.co.uk) and their other products definitely look interesting and I will give them a try if I see them.
