I happened to meet a couple in the vegan community and I was surprised to find out they run several Kung Fu studios. I just think the idea of a vegan Kung Fu studio was awesome, so I decided to join. I have since found out that this unassuming couple are both 8th degree Elder masters (10th degree is the Grandmaster). They run 16 studios accross the country and most of the instructors are vegans. They promote veganism and animal rights and make many donations to animal rights organizations and sanctuaries.

If you are interested in Kung Fu, Tai Chi, self defense, physical fitness, etc, I would highly recommend attending one of their schools. They are very laid back and everyone goes at their own pace. No screaming, competitive overtones, or extreme demands. Plus, this is the least expensive martial arts studio I have ever come accross.

They have schools in the cities listed below, and you can find more information on their website at www.Shao-lin.com. Or feel free to email me at CJ@ColoradoVeggies.org if you have any questions.

God, talk about beyond coolness!!!!!!!!

They are very laid back and everyone goes at their own pace. No screaming, competitive overtones, or extreme demands.

That counts me out then, I tend to be a noisy £%&3r !! ha, but no I have a quiet side, and in fact am practising how in Gods name I do that to honor the despotic will of my nabes. Any flip, make way for VeganKungFu indeed.

To be quite serious, I'm sure in my mind I might at least get the hang of wu-tang yang and turn it into something productive physically :D

On a more serious than quite serious note: I do find whatever is to be gotten out of something like KungFu, may at least compliment my meditation skills and general physical well being to toughen up etc, but in a graceful kickass kinda way I hope  *nods in attonement of spiritual edifice of the masters, unassuming or otherwise masterly!*

And lastly too bad I'm in the UK, as there as no skools of theirs here, but I still think WOW!!!!!!!! Cheers. I will check out these couple NO DOUBT!!!!!

that's cool.

one of my good friends is a sifu and also vegetarian. he uses positive motivation techniques, teaches nonviolent communication and conflict resolution practices, as well as the benefits of vegetarianism. he's a great guy.

Wow, you're right their classes are super cheap. A one year membership only costs $300; that's awesome. If I weren't already signed up for 6 months at a kenpo place 2 miles from where I live I would definitely check it out. I'll have to remember the place after my contract expires, because I might move during summer (around the time my contract expires) and be within a couple miles of the location. Wish I would have known about it sooner--the price is very attractive. I'm paying 120 a month already and at this place it is only 180 total for 6 months. Incredible.
