At the salon last night the stylist used the Bed Head line of products on my hair and they worked very well (plus they smell so yummy). I sent a note inquirying if this line contained any animal by-products and received a quick response. Thought I would share (did a quick run through of previous posts and this brand didn't stand out, so hope I'm not duplicating):
I am glad to be the one to tell you that none of our hair products contain any animal by products and are very safe for you to use. Please use our products with 100% confidence. Thank you for your great concern and please have a wonderful day.
Sincerely,
Rebecca

Customer Service,
Hi. The salon I frequent uses your products and I really like how they work with my hair. My question is if your products contain any animal derived ingredients. I am trying to live a vegan lifestyle, and by doing so avoid all animal by-products. I would greatly appreciate a response. Thank you, Michelle

That's awesome! I have extremely fine yet thick hair (sounds weird--well, it is. Lots of hair, but each hair is extremely skinny) so most products either make it look greasy or weigh it down or something, but Bed Head works well. I knew they didn't test on animals, but I was unsure about animal-derived ingredients.
Thanks for the info!

oh, man, I can't STAND the smell of TIGI products. I hate it when my hair smells like a bowl of fruited jello. I guess that I don't like any scents that smell like food....unless....well....they COME from food.
Fruity, vanilla, chocolate and the rest of the food scent give me the icks.

They have a product called "After Party" and it smells like bubblegum. I don't really wear much perfume, so it's nice to have a good fragrance for snuggling with my sweetie. He always says I make his mouth water, like food, anyway. ;) :D

What does TIGI stand for?
Is it a abreviation or so ?
I hate to disappoint you, but "confirmations" like that are worthless. I'll bet they don't even know what you mean.
I'd check the bottle myself if I where you and check out every ingredient unknow to you on the net.
Basic rule : Never, ever ask "does it have animal ingredients in it " but ask "where is ingredient X made off".
(does it contain ceratin ? that might be animal based)

I've checked before and some of their products contain hydrolyzed silk.

I haven't purchased any of the products yet and will certainly not until I check out the labels. (It's kind of second nature to me now to read labels before buying.) But, I still thought I would share. It could very well be worthless info.

I just sent TIGI an email containing a link to this thread. Hopefully they will respond.
Thanks for sharing the info veganchick.

I would read the label for myself also, just because this person says it has no animal products in it you have to keep in mind that they are just the customer service rep and not the scientists that put together the products formula....
Also you have to ask them about animal testing.. I think that goes without saying though.

There is another thread about Toni and Guy.
Some products contain animal ingredients.
