Moving home ASAP... to roundabout wherever (South as the general picture)
I NEED A PLACE TO LIVE, EITHER AS A COUNCIL EXCHANGE OR OTHERWISE SOMETHING "PRIVATE" IF IT COMES TO THAT. I AM OPEN-MINDED and NEED YOUR INPUT OF VACANCIES OR OFFERS/ SUGGESTIONS, etc... or maybe you're a somebody that knows somebody who knows somebody sort of somebody (so much the better its all good, let me know).
I will begin to list some of the towns or cities (to be edited in shortly) I wouldn't mind living in (for all conceivable & practical reasons for work/whatever (volunteering in forestry maintainance as the main instance) AND most importantly all the things, everything and anything pertaining to life as a vegan) or being within reasonable distance of the following: (to be FULLY "edited in" shortly as I said)...but for now I can tell you, these may include as a general picture, anyplace from Bristol to Brighton... but predominantly near the South and best of all the NewForest would suit me the bestmost....including in that latter area, any major or minor town, as I can be flexible in that most prized location of where I wanna be.
I am even openminded to relocating someplace inbetween the Newforest & London and Brighton & London! I guess that means most of Sussex and Wessex huh(?)
Anyway, more suggestions of places/locations to come and offers of where I might be able to team up with other vegans or VEGAN (singular or plural) will of course be welcome opportunities and the more ASAP the better too!!!!!!
Thankyou for taking note, Please Be Sure To Come Back Soon To Check Out This Thread Again For More Of My Thoughts ON MOVING HOME, and of course any input anyone else might like to add, whatever your ideas maybe, and BTW, I'm particularly interested in the convenience of council/housing association housing, but that is not necessarily most important, Anyway, we shall see....
MY BASIC STATS: (to be edited in shortly) I am 32 and strict vegan and <_WILL ADD & EDIT MORE STUFF HERE IN A BIT__>, lets just meanwhile get me a chance here.....perhaps even if the opportunity arises with a handful of others in the case of house sharing AS ONE POSSIBILITY or even creating that opportunity from scratch with others, IF that is also something worth myself and others looking into, to explore as a possibility...!!!

........So above, thats it, HEADSUP THAT IS, HEADING THE GAME OF WHERE NOW FOR ME, FOR MOVING HOME, AND IN SOME CASE MAYBE MAKE OR BREAK MOVE AND WHATEVER~ SO I NEED SOME PEOPLES ATTENTION AND TO GET THE WORD OUT (for anyone seeknig a tenant that is vegan reflected perhaps in the landlord or roommate or flatmate--- being that I do rather insist on being with veg*ns or AT LEAST VEGETARIANS to live with---
.....UNLESS OTHERWISE OF COURSE I GET A NON-SHARE PLACE DOING A SWAP WITH ANOTHER SINGLE TENANT LIKE ME (their exchange of a place to exchange for mine = single bedsit/ tale 2 ppl max) that is ***Council or housing Assoc owned or whatever***........ AND IF NOT darlings, then I'll accept private accommodation also, if a good deal in a good location! And (location again) if in the direction I wanna go in ~ SOUTH or hither to on the way...)
UNLUCKILY OR WHATEVER, its been a SODDING ***long winding road*** (yeah Eeeek!!!/ exactly!!!) TASK IN HAND FOR ME, and laborious outreach effort and ambition of mine to move, so much so, it has taken over my life for LITERALLY years, and that is in no way good. Maybe I'm just not out-reaching enough, I have thought to myself several times, BUT THIS YOU SEE IS WHY AM CHUCKING ALL WHAT I HAVE AT VB AND INCIDENTLY AT VEGANFORUM.com TOO (whereat you will see the same ad as this over there!)....I am UKrelocate at VeganForum, for anyone needing to get their head around that, and whatever perverse reasons you may want to know, lol.

I wish I could help, but I'm in Buckinghamshire which seems to be on the wrong side of London. And our house/flat prices are nasty, I'm trying to help a german friend find a palce right now and it's proving really hard even though we're out of the London price bracket

well, thanx for the tid-bit of how nasty rent price can be anyway, even as you say, outside of London. (not that I would jump at living actually *IN* London and as maybe so, not in the IMMEDIATE surroundings, but I am willing to keep an open-mind about wherever I end up, at least until I get more idea of what rents might be at least anyways!!!!) :) And roundabout London is not a first choice for me at any rate, unless in a town outside of London.
Where in Buckinghamshire are you Shantih, is it a typical town you live in,, or an upmarket market town? :D

i think you should look into GLASTONBURY, Somerset... or the surrounding area. there are loads and loads of spiritual/eco/meditation/vegan/alternative minded people there, its like a mecca for the new age, its got pretty good transport links to big cities like Bristol, and smaller ones like Taunton, and large towns like Yeovil, but its close enough to the countryside too- the somerset levels and lots of foresty stuff is pretty much on your doorstep, and the sea is only 30 minutes drive in places. I don't know how easy it would be to get a council house exchange there, but there are always lots of alternative people coming and going, and a good community vibe amongst them, so with the right links (dunno what they'd be, sorry, but i could maybe ask someone who might know) you might do ok there.
just a thought.

I live in Aylesbury, so we've got a bit of a contrast. £1 mil houses and then on the other side of town £350pcm apartments. It's a very modern vs Old English sort of town. I wouldn't give up on this area though, we've managed to find a few alright places for £400pcm which is really the lowest you can go, and there's beautiful countryside around here and a trainline that goes straight to London in an hour.
Jen's suggestion of Glastonbury sounds good though, Somerset is wonderful :wayne:

k, Shantih I won't give up on that area, IF by some default or distraction, it dawns on me someplace near in the region of Reading is the order of the day, we'll see.... Like I say, openminded... :) .....(I actually already had Reading in mind as possible destination should I end up there!....Who Knows... I just have to keep my ear to the ground!!)
And Glasto!...I know, but actually what do I know, it sounds alright in principle, but not sure I would live in Glasto itself, maybe somewhere nearish though, or if not I could just take myself to Bristol instead ~AS ONE OPTION MAYBE.
I still think though the NewForest is more my scene for my most common pursuit of cycling and the kind of leisure & nature I like!.....However, I wouldn't mind at least visiting the kind of events and such in and around Glasto, but green festivals and the like are not always held there.... so again, open-minded to each regional tout (wotnot)!!!
Thanx both so far;; for the input... ((VACANCIES, even better!))

oh, what do you mean?? you're curious as to why I have not done so yet ?....well, not being funny but why would you care not being in the UK kpickell ?
I will edit things into the OP where I said that, and probably in a new post, these will be edits of places I will consider on my list for where to go.... but already people will see and have an idea of where I'm aiming for....
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And just to remind everyone, I am open to a fair number of possibilities, even if not council housing (if the accommodation offered is long term guaranteed, whereas for council housing there is not that worry) so I HAVE TO BE CAREFUL about who I go with, just as landlords have to be informed about me! :)

Well your intuitions are correct. I've never stepped foot outside of the United States. But I keep that a secret to most people.

whichever it is I know the housing in and around London one, the site whose owner took one of Michaels texts, wrongly or rightly.
www.vegcom.org.uk (http://www.vegcom.org.uk) is the UK accommodation site.
www.vegcom.com (http://www.vegcom.com) is the site which took part of Michael's text.
Good luck with the housing.

.......More accomodation ideas or stuff anyone to add to the trickle that has started?.... I still don't have a fat lot to go on or offers to respond to yet, but keeping my eyes open, so long as I still have the will to live after the long wait to move home etc, la de dah.... so....ya, know.... Just shout if anyone is moving too, even if not with me or with stuff in mind for me.
So WHO lives (and whereabout do you live) in the South here anyway? I know there's a few......so anyway that question to keep y'all busy if there's nothing else to add here right now, those that might be viewing my thread ??

VA, I live in the south, in London. The webite I used when moving is www.findaproperty.com (http://www.findaproperty.com/). But I have found that it is easier just to phone agents in the area where you would like to move, for privte renting. Otherwise it is up to you to contact the council and housing associations in the area you want to go.

Thanx BlackHeart, been to that site at least a couple times over the years, I'll surely try it again though and see what lately is available. Anyway, thankyou. :)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And to share what I found, I came across this nation-wide site (www.moveflat.co.uk) --COULD BE JUST LONDON THIS SECTION OF THE SITE, BUT ANYWAY... and has "area list" with names of common places on its maps corresponding to London city listing....
And same principle here TOO, with "lists" and/or "map" format, but for other cities at www.clickflatshare.co.uk, (equally worth checking out I think probably!!) So thats the neat feature anyway (like I point out for London above) but whereby here for example at www.clickflatshare.co.uk I could choose to see either London, Bristol or Southampton (etc) ~individually each city of course~ to see roughly on a city map whats on offer where :) that has "lists" and/or "map" format to help guide you thru to the area you wanna view, etc.
note:
But be sure that to find elsewhere other than London, you go to this other site, and you could navigate from the above moveflat.co.uk site!! but its easier if I just give the link for anyone that might be interested (as its not that obvious in the menu at the above site) SO FOR OTHER CITIES, GO HERE: www.clickflatshare.co.uk
www.moveflat.co.uk also have parallels of the same want & offer principle at site called www.movethat.com and one of the things you can do there amongst many other things is exchange a language of all things  or write a simple 'help please' kind of note in their "help please section" :) for whatever you may need (so whats on offer on this other link is a lot more than just moving home which I like muchly!).
I'm not sure if there's a 'save my ass' section, but I could sure use one of those listing on occasions too, well maybe.... heh.

My God, am I still moving home..... yes looks that way..... Elevate My Profile U2....
High, higher than the sun
You shoot me from a gun
I need you to elevate me here
At the corner of your lips
As the orbit of your hips
Eclipse
You elevate my soul
I've got no self control
Been living like a mole now
Going down, excavation
I and I in the sky
You make me feel like I can fly
So high
Elevation
A star
Lit up like a cigar
Strung out like a guitar
Maybe you can educate my mind
Explain all these controls
Can't sing but I've got soul
The goal is elevation
