oh muh gorsh! i got the silliest idea for a poll the other day in the shower...you guessed it. struggling with some bar soap leftovers.
ugh, its kind of a sad day when your bar just snaps in half...it all goes downhill from that point on. lol
what i've been doing is saving them up and squishing them together. that seems to work...somewhat. maybe i need to devise a mold...hmm.
here goes....fess up everyone!

Save all the leftovers, grate them up into soap flakes, and reconstitute into a new bar of soap!!!

hmm, soap flakes eh? we're not talking about the t2000 terminator here...heh. reconstitute...as in, put in pot and heat up? or mix with warm water and shape into something by hand?

I like to let an old bar of soap sit in the bathwater with me for about half an hour, then I squish it between my fingers until it is no more.
I don't use bar soap very often, for that exact reason.

hey! thats a great idea muppetcow. i wasn't thinking that when i posted the poll.
i was thinking along the lines of just squishing for squishings sake...you know?

It kind of is just for squishings sake...I get a really great lather out of it, but it feels really...um...nice to have it squishing between the fingers. And now that I've just proven what a freak I am...

I just stick it on the new bar and they become one...

Bleah, I don't like bar soap. I always use shower gel!

I usually just toss the soap when it gets so small that I can barely use it.

I haven't had soap slivers bc I use a dish with no drain, and the soap all just builds up in there. But my mom saves them, grates them up and boils them with some water to make hand soap for the pump.

great ideas everyone! thanks. when i made the switch to more humane health care products 3 months back i decided i wanted to keep it simple and inexpensive.
i was previously using shower gell, or whatever...but i didn't like how i was prone to use to much of it....it was more expensive, and it was more wastefull (packaging). so bar soap it was. i've been happy with the bar soap. a bar in the shower lasts me a month about, and i have a bar next to the bathroom sink thats lasted 3 months!
loki: i think i'll be trying out your idea. heck, i could probably even MAKE my own soap bars if i go to the trouble of finding some molds. yah!

you know...i have a vivid (somewhat) memory of making soap in preschool for a moms day gift! i had a glass of water on the table i reached for a drink of and ended up getting a mouthfull of soap instead!
