Have you tried these yet?

I tried a sample and, though I am loathe to say this because it is vegan and I don't want to turn anyone off, it tasted really really bad. I still have not recovered from it. When I see it in Whole Foods, I wretch and dry heave uncontrollably. But that's just my experience.....

Maybe I'm just bad at mixing things?

I think they're right bloody horrible mate. Like dirt. In bar form. And they're expensive.

But vegans don't eat for pleasure; I thought everyone knew that. ;)

The Vega bars are one of the very few vegan bars I can eat before a workout with any amount of protein in them. So I choke 'em down as best I can.

I reckon if I can get as many people to get the samples and give them to me that, while I won't enjoy them, at least I can't argue with the price.

I can work with the Vega powder well enough though.

I haven't eaten the bars (I hate dates) but I've mixed the powder in with my smoothies. The berry one goes alright. :)

Vega had a booth at the Toronto Vegetarian Festival back in September with a LOT of product on a table.

I sort of walked by and thought, yeah. Good luck with that.

I wonder if there market isn't just people like me who want a vegan supplement before a workout and have no real other choice because 99.9% of anything has whey in it.

Anyway, three weeks in and no sign of my freebie. :grr:

Yeah, thankfully I only bought a sample packet.

It tasted like sawdust, sh**, and hot sick pureed together.

Which isn't as tasty as it sounds. :no:

I thought the same thing. The bars were alright but one sip of of the drink made me feel like throwing up (and I never feel that way). And if that wasn't bad enough, I was burping up the drink for hours afterward.

I saw an ad for a free sample in Vegnews magazine and submitted my request about two months ago and no sample. Not a big deal, but I am a little nervous because i plugged in my address and everything to get the sample and never received it. My Kashi sample came in about three weeks.

Go for it meatless - like I said, I gave them my name, address, and email and never received anything. Come to think of it, I haven't received any email messages from them either. Most companies, once you give them your email address, you get a message a week.
