Hi, I am not an official raw food fan, but I do pretty much live on huge salads, and have often bought pre-washed packaged greens for my salads. I just threw out three bags of beautiful greens because of this new e.coli scare.
What are your thoughts about this? Any ideas about where to get fresh salad greens that are safe to eat raw? Would love some suggestions.

I just got back from the grocery store. They had plenty of other bagged greens, plus there's always the non-bagged varieties. The recall, so far, has only been claiming bagged spinach as the culprit.
I bought ...
bagged coleslaw
fresh romain
fresh kale
fresh red cabbage
If you're really worried, you can always search for a local farmer's market.

Right now they're not saying anything about bunch spinach, but since they apparently don't know yet whether the contamination is occurring in the fields or the packing plants, I'd be a little leery of bunch spinach as well. I'd stick to other greens until the source is identified.
