hiya, i'm still struggling with the amount of stuff to offer in the UK in ways of veg*n food. i'm only aware of one shop that sells it; Holland & Barretts and none of the main supermarkets in my area sell anything more than a few sausages suitable for veg*ns (e.g. tesco, asda, sainsbury's, somerfield etc). i was just wondering if there are other places i haven't realised and more importantly if anyone recommends any products. i've heard of a wide range of stuff in the US but hardly a whisper of things here. thanks.

There are loads of things, but I don't know Bristol.
Pre made vegan food is pricy. Things I buy a lot of are vegan cheese by Scheese [I love it but maybe if you still remember cow cheese it might not be so great] I get that in independent HFS.
Vegan ice cream - Swedish Glace is in most supermarkets in vanilla but loads of flavours in HFS.
A vegan cheese type thing made from brazil nuts because it melts. Vegerella??
Toffutti cream cheese.
Plain soya yoghurt from supermarkets.
Soya margerine, [I buy Pure] from supermarkets.

Once you get the hang of the enquiry boxes this is a handy site to browse.
also http://www.isitveggie.com/index.html is good.

Speciality products are hard to come by, but for staples, there's plenty of stuff. isitvegan.info has already been mentioned, so there's not much else I can contribute.
