About two months ago I had an attack of diverticulitis. I've had a few tests to confirm this. Now I am taking fiber supplements and trying to eat even more fiber than I previously did. I have tried Psyllium fiber and was bloated and gassy, but my stomach felt good, however I was in the bathroom all day. Now I have switched to an organic flax fiber. It works good, but I feel like it has given me indigestion or acid reflux (of which I didn't have a problem with before this). Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Give yourself a break! Try to accustom yourself slowly to more fiber. Organic bread and pasta might do well. Oats have soluble fiber, which might also help.

If you focus on eating legumes, whole grains, nuts, vegetables and fruits, you shouldn't need the fiber supplements.

I would ditch the supplements personaly and just ease into eating more whole grains, beans and such and maybe add flax to your diet eat lots of fresh veggies and fruit and you should have no problems.
Anytime you suddenly change your diet though your not going to feel quite right, ease into fiber, if you jump in with both feet the result can be green clouds of gas and being bloated, niether is fun.
