I don't take credit for posting this,
but it does belong to us, and should be posted here.

My idea wasn't to kill this thread, but to encourage more sentiments on this movie, in this forum. Mostly from the vegan perspective. I think the overwelming majority know of these threads.

And I think that was a good idea. :)

I plan on watching this for the first time tomorrow, and I will be back to discuss!

Very Powerful. I cried (tears) and screamed out "Monsters, bastards!" through most of the film. I couldn't watch the torture either, but there are people who need to be made aware. I am downloading and sharing. Thank you for the link.

I watched this last week and cried throughout the documentary. It's a movie I'd recommend to a lot of people, but unfortunately not to all, due to the cruelty factor. It's definitely an eye-opener for a number of practices involving animal exploitation, as it's one thing to know about something, and quite another to actually see it. Naturally, there were a number of scenes I didn't watch, as I was holding my hands to my face. Good thing you posted a link, Vegan Joe, I think more people should watch Earthlings.

Not sure why you keep bringing up my name. Cross-post it in every forum if you want, but it doesn't "belong to us" as you claim.

I don't keep bringing up your name.
Hide still chafed, or is it chaffed? There fella.
See you're still pissed at me. You want to read it your way.
It's not ment in the possesive form, but that it is a viewpoint held by the overwelming majority of Vegans.
Should I recommend cream, or ointment for whats really ailing you.

PS I was trying to be nice by mentionig your name, but have it your way, be a cynic.

I'm not pissed at you, I just don't have much respect because of personal comments you've made and continue to make, (if anything I'm upset at the moderators who let people get away with homophobic comments) but you're bringing up stuff again that's off topic...
I didn't do anything different in this thread than I've done in any other duplicate thread, I just pointed out where the original thread was. I didn't actually realize a new vegan forum had been started until afterwards, so I assumed you were posting that link without knowing it had been posted before. I deleted my comments pointing out the other thread when I realized what you were doing, but then you bring it up again.

Look Mr Kpickle you would deny me my own opinion. For which I and everyone else here, and every where have a right to have. You would brand me as a homophobic just because I don't agree with your chosen life style . You don't even know me enough to pass that judgement on me. The moderators made there decision, and so who are you to second quess them?
Why because your feeling were hurt? Because you need to learn how to control your emotions? Heck maybe your heterophobic for all I know, But I not going to pass that judgement on you, because I don't know you well enough. Only well enough to know that you can stand any criticism.

Umm... All arguments aside, and back to the original topic, that movie made me BAWL my eyes out... I had never seen it before. I made it as far as the piece on euthanasia (sp?) and just watching that made me crack. All I can think is that people are SO irresponsible and SO barbaric on SO many levels and it horrifies me.

...I wish I could (by means of money, time, energy and space) go out and adopt every homeless animal at the local shelter. It wouldn't solve the problem but it might help me stop crying :-(

After watching the whole thing...That's it. Vegan for life. I don't care what my parents think. Never again. I don't think I've ever been so sure about any decision in my life.

I don't think I can bear to watch it, but would somebody just give me
a run down as to what it's about?
I will try to get my courage up eventually.

It's pretty much a collection of footage showcasing various types of animal cruelty. It covers the whole board from food animals (shown being slaughtered), to wild animals (shown skinned for fur), to the entertainment industry (circus abuses), to domestic pets (shelter euthanizations, etc). ... It can be hard to watch.

Plot Outline: Using hidden cameras and never-before-seen footage, EARTHLINGS chronicles the day-to-day practices of the largest industries in the world, all of which rely entirely on animals for profit.

It covers pet stores / puppy mills, leather, fur, food, circuses, zoos, horse racing, dog racing, etc...

It really is a must see eye-opener. Narrated by Joaquin Phoenix, it runs an hour and a half if I remember correctly.

Here's one that is only 4 min. long.

Watched it. Got pretty teary eyed in some parts. I bought it on dvd to give to people, gave it to my mom she watched it and felt bad but she continues to eat animal flesh. I dont understand how people can just ignore what they are doing and go on with their lives like nothing is wrong.

There are two primary choices in life; to accept conditions as they exist, or accept the responsibility for changing them.

I know it's a long shot, but that sure would be awesome if it became an official selection. Even more awesome if it actually won, but now I'm just dreaming.
