I ordered a pair of heels from http://www.shoesunlimited.com/. They were too wide for my feet, so I went about returning them. They have very specific guidelines on what acceptable packaging is, so mom and I were very careful in returning them. I wore the shoes for about a minute before taking them off when I tried them on. They were in perfect condition.

Anyway, we received the package back, saying the company had refused delivery because the shoes were in bad condition. Well, when refusing delivery, you don't open the package. How would they have known how the shoes had looked if they didn't open it? So mom and the lady at UPS examined the box... they had slit the tape to open it unnoticed.

So mom and I opened the box back up... they sent me back a different pair of shoes! They were the same style, but with cuts on the sole, and stains on the insole. There was dirt in them!

We informed the shipping office in the city where ShoesUnlimited is located, and they refunded the money we had to pay to ship them to the company.

I just wanted to forewarn everyone to not do business with this company. They have a decent selection of shoes made out of manmade materials, but this company lies.

have you ever tried www.zappos.com. They have an excellent customer service policy. They have vegetarian shoe selection. And for some reason if the shoes do not fit, you have up to a year to return.

I bought some shoes there, they didnt fit, so they sent me another pair quickly, and easily allowed me to return the others. Shipping is free both ways.

I've never tried zappos, but I've heard nothing but good things about them. :)

Sorry about the bad experience and thanks for the tip. I just ordered from moo shoes and I love my new Montrails. 100% vegan and the customer service was fab!

I recently bought Garmont Vegan Hikers (boots) from VeganEssentials and love them. Just an FYI to people who are steering clear of ShoesUnlimited.

Ugh... working in retail myself, it completely disgusts me to hear about customers at any store being treated poorly (er, that is, unless the customer is being a royal douche and deserves it ). I give nothing less than 100% great customer service to all my customers, if I have to do it, so does everyone else! I'd definitely write a letter of complaint to the president/CEO of the company about your experience if you can find their info. That really sucks. I certainly won't be doing business with them. Hope it works out for you.

That's horrible! I have zero tolerance for people/companies like that as of late, just because there seems to be more and more like that. I would be livid. I hope you called them and gave them whatfor.

That's awful! If you pay with a credit card, see if you can get a refund. Then your credit card company will give them hell. I have had citibank and discover give me refunds for things I was angry about with no problems at all.

I used mom's card, and she's working on that :)

You should also consider filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau if you haven't already.

I did that when I had a problem with Nixon watches... they sent me 3 in total which all died within 3 months, and they wouldn't refund my money.:tired:
