New thread. I got tired of starting a new thread every week so lets try monthly, plus we just don't have enough people posting.

Sunday I ran 11.5 miles

Monday I hiked 2 miles with the dogs...I tweaked my foot fairly bad on Sunday so it was really sore.

Today I will run 5 miles on the treadmill.

Yesterday and today I swam around a mile...more than that today and probably less yesterday.

Today and yesterday I rode a few miles on my bike, then a hour's cardio after.
I alternate days with light weightlifting, but I have limited options at my house. I waiting for my rec center pass to come in!!

I love to swim in the nearby lake but it keeps raining.:-/

gotta keep hoping for the :sunny: doo doo doo doo

I'll start posting here since I love to work out and do it regularly, although I'm old and slow and won't set any records!!!

Thursday - too hot at 7am to run (it was already 80!) and so I did my Tae Bo Extreme CD - go Billy go! :vebo:

Wednesday - 3 mile run - very hot.

Tuesday - 4.5 mile run, .5 mile walk. This is my usual workout, and the running part takes me 45 minutes to complete.

THanks for keeping the Hamsters alive. I'll try to remember to come here. I'm taking an off day. I'm busy and a bit under the weather and need to rest today.

Poppy. Welcome to the "old and slow" Hamsters!

This morning I finally got my regular run in. I left the house at 7am in an attempt to beat the heat. I was drenched when I got back home.

I've been taking an 8 ounce bottle of water on hot mornings. Anything heavier bothers me (to carry in my hand), and I can slip the 8 oz. in my pocket for a break from carrying it (although it bugs me there, too!). Does anyone have any better solutions? I don't think I'd like to wear a belt, but if there's a comfortable one, maybe I'd give it a try. thanks.

I guess I'm considered "young and slow". I'm 26 but I run at about the same pace as you. :)

As for the belt, I have tried many.

My favorite by far is www.fuelbelt.com

I have this one: http://www.fuelbelt.com/qu4bebl.html

Most of my other ones I never wore for very long but this one I have worn for almost two years now. Although it does go aroudn your waist, the bottles just don't bounce as much as a regular pack. After the first couple of times I've used it I hardly notice that I even have anything around my waist now.

I just noticed that they only have the small in the one I have now. They have more options with this one: http://www.fuelbelt.com/en4be.html

Thanks for the sites!

I'm looking at the 10k model.

The sizes are pretty much right on too. Measure where you want it to sit. I like mine to sit a bit lower more torwards my hips so if that is where you want it to sit, make sure you measure over there.

One other reason why I like this type of belt is that it has a bit of stretch to it. I don't know if that is what makes it so comfortable to wear. It isn't too strechy though where the thing feels like it is flopping around.

I stopped by a local running store to see if they had these, and they did. Unfortunately, I'm going to need a medium and they only had x-small and small. But I did get the chance to see one, put it on, and get the feel of it. I think it will work. I'm going to order one on line in a day or two if I can't find one around town. Thanks Cap't!

Hi all! Got a run in this morning - and the heat has broken. What a relief, and what a difference in the run. It was actually fun again!

Poppy, I have this and I really like it: http://www.amphipod.com/335/335.html
But I've seen a lot of people with these http://www.amphipod.com/8400/8400.html and the fuel belt one you're looking at. The thing I don't like about mine is that if I'm running a longer distance (like over 8 miles or so), i run out of water and wish I had some add-ons.

Anyway... this morning I ran 3.5 miles and it was pretty hot out, and last night I ate a big dinner so I felt kind of sick on my run today. Bleh.

OA - that looks cool - how far will you be running?

We continue to have our break in the weather - only going to be 91 today! I ran at 7am, 4.5 miles, and enjoyed it. I'm going to add another .5 in September.

Everyone has 3 legs on H2C -- I'm running legs 11, 23, and 35. (there are 36 legs total; 12 runners on a team). My first two legs are 4 miles each, and my last leg is 7. I don't know how I'm going to run 7 miles after already having run twice in 24 hours, but I'll survive. :D

That looks like fun. There are a number of people from my running club heading up there to run the Portland Marathon on October 1st. Wish I could say I was joining them. You must have beautiful running areas up there.
