My Omega 8005 is arriving tomorrow, according to FedEx tracking, and I went out today and got a bunch of veggies to juice as soon as the thing is out of the box and plugged in.

My question is this: about how much juice do you drink per day, and about how much would you say you spend on juicing?

I never really did understand juicing. I mean I understand people wanting to get all those vitamins really easily but I think smoothies would be the preferred way because you get all those extra nutrients from the pulp and skins.

But then I go buy Sun Rype juice because I'm not raw anymore. So just ignore me, lol. :)

Btw, how's it going with the juicing?

So far, so good! Of course, I'm only on DAY 4 of my life with a juicer.

I leave the skins on when I juice, so I am getting those nutrients, and I already have a very high fiber diet, so I'm not missing out on that. Basically, juicing allows me to get more nutrients b/c I wouldn't be able to eat in one day as many veggies as I can drink. For instance, right now, I'm drinking juice made from 1 cuke, 2 C spinach, 5 carrots, 3 celery sticks, some parsley, and an apple. For lunch I'll be eating a huge spinach salad with pita bread and hummus, and for dinner, I'm planning on having some sort of bean - Mexican type dish with loads of veggies, so I'm doing fine on fiber. Pre-juicing, I probably would have just had a glass of OJ in the morning with my oatmeal instead of this.

I'm drinking about 4 glasses of juice per day (primarily vegetable - usually just 1 glass of straight fruit juice), so I'm definitely getting more nutrients than I was before, and I'm not getting any less fiber than before. I certainly agree that only juicing and not eating whole foods means depriving the body of fiber. I'm not doing that, though. I'm looking at juicing the same way I look at vitamin supplementation. This is just bonus nutrients I'm getting, plus it fills me up and tastes really delicious! :pibo:
