Amy's Veggie Burgers

Amy's Veggie Burgers are on sale at my co-op this month... and there's a coupon too.. so they'd be under $2/box for me with my member discount. Has anyone tried the different varieties and can recommend one? (Other than the Chicago burger, which has cheese in it)

The spicy vegan one... Texas, I believe? Is good if you're into meat subs- it tastes just like the real deal, ick. I prefer the California (?) burger, personally- the one that doesn't contain soy protein isolate, but veggies and grains instead, yum.

I like the Texas burger, but I don't think it tastes remotely like real meat.

I think my bf would like that... I seem to be more of a California type (I like my veggie burgers to contain... veggies). I guess I could try one of each.

I love Amy's Texas and California burgers. I didn't care for the All-American variety. I love them on whole wheat with some Vegenaise, lettuce and tomato slices! MMM!!!! :D

Another vote for the california. I loved the taste and appreciated the fact that it was not soy based.

Yes! I made those on the grill on the 4th of July and was blown away. Never again will I buy those Boca vegan burgers. They pale in comparison.

I've bought the Amy California burgers this weekend..I really liked them :) so it has my vote too :up:

I ended up buying the California ones because they had that one, the American and the Chicago, which contains cheese. My boyfriend ate two of them, and then one for dinner the next night! (I just had one cause I don't eat a TON like he does.) He loved them. I went back yesterday and bought 3 more boxes of the California burgers and 2 of the American to try (He'll eat anything. lol), while they're on sale and only costing me $2 a box.

FWIW, Vegetarian Times recently (May/June 2006) rated Amy's California Burger one of their favorites in a taste test. They noted it was "flavorful with chunks of real veggies."
