Subject: PLEASE CROSSPOST THIS FAR AND WIDE

PERMISSION TO CROSSPOST

Please let everyone in the animal community know that we got a complete ban on the sale of shelter pets to research in Jackson county, Michigan. The vote was 11-1.

It's important to crosspost this because we heard people from out of state are calling the county shelter and bothering them. This harms the ability of people to find out if there lost pet is missing. Please get the word out--we always told people to only contact the commissioners so I don't know who could be doing this.

thanks!

Judy D.

Is that like puond seizure? Its really good that they are stopping it, even if it is only in one county.

Why is that a good thing? Won't they just put those animals down and more will be bred for research?

Wait, maybe I'm just not reading right, but "this harms the ability of people to find out if their lost pet is missing" -how is that a good thing? I think it's good ppl can't buy animals for testing, but who knows who's gonna actually do that anyway? Why can't ppl find their lost pets? Maybe I'm being stupid here, if so, someone please explain...

I think they mean all the people calling the shelter to see if the ban went through is preventing people looking for their lost pets from getting through.
