http://www.humanesocietynewbraunfels.com/bell.htm Seems like this a@#hats also killed some of the animals at the shelter and poisened the food and cat litter. If anyone can help money wise they are taking donations for repairs.

Arr, that bites.
Our shelter was broken into about a month ago, but luckily none of the animals were killed. They stole a bunch of money and let one of our diabetic dogs lose because they broke through that dogs door. Rather dispicable of people.

That is truly, truly awful. It's always hard to believe that people can be capable of such unspeakable cruelty. :(

How awful. :(
I am very pleased to see how the community has responded, though. Let it not be said that Texans aren't generous!

Horrible people!
I just don't understand what possesses people to be like that.

I am so glad to see the outpouring of support and the fact that people seem to be taking this seriously. When I was in 6th or 7th grade, there was a news story about two teenage boys who broke into a shelter and brutally beat numerous animals to death.
The crime was not taken seriously. People in the community excused it by saying "the animals were going to die anyway." It was something of a controversy that the boys should even be charged in the first place. The brother of one of the boys was on TV, shrugging and saying "It's just a cat."

That's just sick.

There are some really cool people out there that will help out in situations like this. It is awesome how the community is coming together to help. I wish people's love of animals and desire to help them in a crisis extended to the animals eaten as food but that is way off topic...
