I'm not happy at all... I was just browsing their site, reading ingredients and noticed that my favorite burger - spicy black bean - has egg whites in them! Why?? I did notice their vegan section and found a grocery store close by that carries those products but still... no more spicy black bean burgers for me. :brood:

I remember eating a bunch of their products, like the little corn doggies(), and then reading the label one night and found that I had assumed they were vegan! A lot of em were filled with eggs. It was such a bummer :/

Yup, I assumed they were all vegan. Big bummer! Why do their products need eggs?

They probably act as a binder so the burgers don't fall apart like the ones I make lol

I loved using their burgers (especially the black bean) because it was such a quick and easy meal. But I'll try the vegan ones and see how they are. I could make my own but the whole point of eating Morningstar is the no-cook factor. Yeah, I'm lazy.

This seems to happen fairly often. I'm not sure why some people automatically assume MF products are vegan. I would think vegans would be used to checking labels, especially on something mass-produced and mass-marketed like MF.

That's what I was thinking too. I wonder why people do assume they are all vegan? Although I must admit when I first saw "Soy Cheese" I assumed it was vegan, many years ago. Little did I know casein is a dairy product!
Morningstar does have a section on their website listing all the vegan products:

Morningstar Farms® Grillers® Vegan
Morningstar Farms® Grillers® Burger Style Recipe Crumbles
Morningstar Farms® Meal Starters™ Sausage Style Recipe Crumbles™
Morningstar Farms® Meal Starters™ Steak Strips
Morningstar Farms® Meal Starters™ Chik'n Strips
Everything else is not vegan.

Actually I'm a new vegan. I've been LO since 98 so I have to remind myself to read labels, especially on products I've used for so long.
kpickell, yeah I saw their vegan section. A grocery store close by carries the vegan products so I plan on trying them.
