Make sure you're properly hydrated. Have a big glass of water about an hour to an hour and a half before going (though make sure you have a trip to the bathroom first, obviously), and stay hydrated throughout the day.
Eat more bananas.
If it keeps up, just slow down your pace, you're pushing too hard. The speed will come.

I get those, usually when I'm running too hard for the shape I am in or when my breathing pattern gets messed up.

I get that when I have eaten or drunk something too recently. I don't eat for 2hrs before running or drink 1hr before.

Yep, I find the two main causes for stitches are eating too soon beforehand and breathing too hard. So don't eat any major meals or have a lot of liquid sloshing around in your stomach before you go for a run, and run at a pace you could converse at, but not sing at, and you should be allright.
Good luck:)

It could be any one of these:
1) you need potassium or magnesium, 2) you're dehydrated, 3) you are running too fast for your breathing, 4) you're not getting enough sleep, 5) you might have a pulled muscle in between your ribs, 6) you ate before you started running, 7) you did not properly stretch first

Pain in your sides means that you are not getting enough oxygen. You are probably running way too fast. You should aim for around a 9.30-10 minute mile. If you start to feel the pains coming on, don't keep running. Slow down and walk very quickly, focusing on taking deep breaths until the pains go away. It might also be a good idea to get it checked out with a doctor, because you just never know...

I wonder if there is truth to this. When I first started running I used to get side stiches all the time. The side stiches are what used to make me limit my milage.
Now after running at the marathon distance for a number of years now I hardly ever get side stiches. I don't know what specificly causes them but it seems like the longer you run, the less stiches you get. I've had people in my running club comment on that too.
