Has anyone done it in the past or is currently doing it? I'd love to hear about your experience with it.

I recently started, and yesterday I completed the entire basic workout tape. :nana:

That most likely doesn't sound like a huge accomplishment to most of you, but for me it is a pretty awesome thing.

A little over a year ago, I had jaw surgery (upper jaw broken in 3 places, bottom jaw shifted over) and couldn't eat solid food for over 3 months. In addition, I couldn't drink any "liquid meals" because my mouth was so swollen. (I had to drink everything through a syringe because my mouth was wired shut.) I ended up living off of a few ounces of apple juice each day for about a month, and then managed to get down less than 1 Boost/Ensure/etc. each day. I was pretty much bed-ridden the entire time because I was so heavily medicated, my balance was off, and I had zero energy.

By the time I was un-wired, I was around 90lbs (I'm 5'7"). Standing for more than a couple minutes would leave me exhausted, and it took a few months before I could walk more than a couple blocks at a time.

I gained all my weight back, but mostly in fat - I couldn't build up all the muscle I'd lost because I would get worn out so easily.

I've tried doing Tae-Bo on and off, but I always ended up shutting it off 5-10 minutes into it because I was so tired. So, I started doing easier workouts for about the past month or two, and yesterday I popped the tape in - and finished it! I'm definately feeling it today though lol

I have been doing tae bo for years! The first time I did the basic workout, I had sweat pouring out of me! I have being doing the advanced for some time now, and it really gives you a workout! Of course, it is more intense, and longer than the basic. The good thing about tae bo is that you will gain muscle! I have also added light weights to my workout. Also, it is important to pay attention to Billy Blank's stretching techniques. I have seen his techniques in my health & fitness textbooks that I used for school, so he really does know what he is doing! Good luck with Tae- Bo, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

I used to do Billy Blanks Taebo all the time. I had the advanced tape and it was hard at the begining and then I got easy. However, I couldn't do the get ripped or the boot camp advance... it's way to hard for me.... so they are sitting on my shelf... they are great workouts, but I gess I got bored of them! I still do my taebo tape from time to time though!!!!

Well done Aubrey, you have every right to feel proud

I was in a similar boat to you recently, no where near as harsh, but it was pretty unpleasant all the same. I had surgery on my throat, all went ok until on the 4th day I got a massive infection. Well, the pain was unbearable and like you I couldn't eat or drink for 2 weeks, hell, I couldn't even swallow saliva :(

I lost a stone and a half, and was pretty weak for several weeks after, but finally managed to get back to my Kung Fu. I made it through the first few lessons by sheer stubborness but am now back on track!:)

I guess I'm proud of myself too, I just hadn't realised... thanks

You inspired me. I pulled out my fav TaeBo tape and started it today. I used to be able to make it throught the whole thing using 1 pound hand weights. I barely made it to the end today and I "cheated" on a few sections. But I did it.
