Out of curiosity I check out that site a few months back and that horrible image is still in my head. I almost cry when I think about it. I read on PETA's site that it is a hoax, but what bothers me the most is that there are sickos out there that would probably do this.
I feel so much better now knowing that it's a hoax.

Those are a ripoff anyway. The kittens are cheap, but you have to buy their special bonsai food which is hella expensive.

You're better off just to get them at the flea market.

It's satire. I don't find it offensive. i love cats and wouldn't do this to good ol' Jasper, but I still find the humour in such websites. It's not as bad as the site with the video which shows a cat being killed and cooked, though I guess it does highlight how desensitized us westerners are, to see some animals as food, and others as friends.

I was thinking about how to put what I want to say. That's it, thanks Loki! :)

I don't know; I don't think it's funny or humorous - to me it's just creepy. Gives me those shiver kind of goosebump thingies going on on the back of my neck - yeesh!!)

I heard that this was a hoax, but it is still pretty disturbing.

I just find it stupid.

What's funny is, I tried the link from work, and it was filtered as, "tasteless". :D

The thing that really annoys me about it is all the people who begin to act like they care about animals... Thats only a hoax.. Yet magority of my friends that have emailed me about it dont care about what kind of conditions cows/pigs/sheep are kept in before they are slaughtered to be eaten.

Dannykass- I know what you mean. I had this boss who I found crying hysterically at the window one morning because there was an abandoned cat and a couple kittens outside. Yet she is the proud owner of several different types of furs (fox, beaver, and something else). It's ridiculous. I emailed her some pictures of a fur farm and some info about anal electrocution. She never brought it up or replied to the email. She made me go out everyday to feed and try to capture the cats (who were vicious)...
There is another lady I work with who wears furs (even those hideous, puffy fur boots) who is always sending me stuff about helping homeless cats and dogs, and preaching to us about the environment. I emailed her info about the toxic subtances they use to prep. furs and also the fur farm photos. Again, it was never mentioned. I haven't worked up the nerve to put a 'Fur is DEAD' sticker on her bumper yet, but the right time will come....hehehe.
What's up with these folks?

I've always wanted to put stickers and brochures at work but even though we have like 5400 people in our building I get the feeling everyone would know it was me. :(

Hmm.. same here.. Im thinking of posters in the toliets at my school. But i know that everyone would KNOW is was me...
And last year i started a protest (well i didnt fully start it.. but the teachers think i did(my cow of an english teacher confronted me in english one day saying i was "the leader")... Not about animals though) which lead to most of the school having the whole day off, our fence got broken and lots of rubbish.. but we were on the news and other schools copied us!!!

DannyKass - What was the protest about ? (just curious)
(p.s - it's an insult to bovines everywhere to refer to that english teacher as a cow.....hahahaha)

Well its sorta a long story.. but ill try make it short...
(started last year)Here they've changed the basic school qualification certificicate thing.. to make it "More even" for students, but the teachers keep complaining that its increasing their workload... And last year they had SOOO may
And last year they had SOOO many “teachers only”strike days.. which led to a few students not passing, and all their assements were stuffed up….

The teachers kept DEMANDING more money, and kept having more days off…
(most of the teachers in the country, there were a few schools which had made private arrangements)

The teachers also stopped doing things outside of school hours.. They even canned school interviews (Im sooo glad about that one though). And then one day they decieded they weren’t going to participate in any sport or cultural activities… (and since they were part of a stupid union they COULDN’T)… which sucked big time, as our school production which we had all worked soooo hard on was going to be on in 2 weeks.. and as they had the ban that meant no rehersals and NO performance… (and sports people were annoyed too, our sports exchange which occurs twice a year with another school in a different city would be cancelled too, not postponed)

So jokingly someone said(no that someone wasn’t me ;)) “We should have our own protest and not go to class and stay on the field all day”… and that got spread… then the next day there were like 150 people on the field… and teachers came out and told people to go back inside.. a couple did… then the principle came out and he told everyone to go to class… a lot more did.. I was standing near him so I asked what would happen if we didn’t.. he said nothing would happen… So everyone left out there sat down!
And then after a couple of hours practically the whole school was out there!
Some students walked out in protest at a PPTA ban on extra-curricular activity and at
Teacher Bernard Beckett says, "We believe there is no confidence around the country in the teachers' union. We've been avoiding saying that so it didn't become an in-fight, but it's got to the stage now that what else can we say?"
PPTA management says the feedback it is getting is that members are happy with the industrial action, and that Onslow College is acting outside of the code of ethics that members sign up to.
The students took matters into their own hands, with students from at least 5 schools refusing to go to classes. Students feel they are the meat in the sandwich.
Meanwhile, students at **My school** are furious the teachers' pay dispute has forced the cancellation of an annual sports exchange. The school drama production will also probably not happen either. The principle stated majority of the students involved were good students and were genuinely concerned.
Across town, students sent Education Minister Trevor Mallard some strong messages in a mail-out while other students walked out the gate.
"Maybe they'll stop to think and kind of change the way they're doing things. Maybe they will realise that this time students have had enough, said one student.
The regular Wednesday round-robin games were called off though there was sports in Dunedin, but during school hours.
Regional Sports Director, Kerry Hendersen says that secondary school sport has been played on Wednesday afternoons for as long as he can remember, around 30-40 years, and the union has never played this card before.
Meanwhile, a vote to extend the extra-curricular ban is due next week.

Yeah that’s the best I can explain it…

Wow - good going. I always like it when young people speak out in a meaningful way.

When I was in high school (back in the stone ages) we boycotted the cafeteria and brown bagged it for over 2 weeks (the entire senior class - and anyone else who wanted to join in). Unfortunately our gripe was bascially that "the food sucked" - I think had we had a more clearly defined agenda we'd have gotten better results...... :)

All in all though - we had a blast sharing our home-made lunches out on the grass (and our mothers felt special at being asked to prepare them I think).

The Coquitlam S.P.C.A found out that this was a giant DISGUSTING hoax played by a bunch of very misguided college students...

Yes, hoax. My friend's mom works for the humane society and had to assure me that it was many times. You would not believe how many people I sent that thing to and how incredibly much swearing I used. I was quite pissed. :( It's still going around, and people ask me about it because they see my name on it. In fact, we were talking about it in art today. *shrugs* Ah, the power my forwarding holds. I'm glad it was only a hoax, but I still think it should be taken off the net.

Yeah, but the question is, can we hack into it and destroy it, at least temporarily? Anyone?

I thought I heard Peta is trying to have it removed.

Maybe we can start an action to mail the provider and ask them to remove it ?
