Pizza dough in the bread machine
Category: Breads

Suitable for a: vegan diet


Ingredients:

My machine is the kind where you add liquid ingredients first, then dry. If yours works the opposite then start at the bottom of the list and work up.

5/8 cup water
1 TB olive oil
1 cup white flour
1 cup wheat flour
1 tsp salt (I use Lo-Salt)
1/2 tsp raw sugar
2 tsp each dried rosemary and oregano--crushed to release flavour
1/2 tsp rapid rise yeast


Instructions:

Add ingredients to your machine in the order they are supposed to go. If your machine is like mine add liquid then dry and then make a well in the flour and add the yeast to keep it from the water until it starts to mix.

Set your machine to dough and press start.

I find that I sometimes need to add a TB more of water or of flour depending on the humidity.

Let the machine do it's work. My machine takes 1 hour and 20 minutes on the dough cycle. When the machine beeps, oil your hands with some olive oil and pull the dough out of the bread pan. Roll it out onto a pizza pan or cookie sheet and bake for 10 minutes at 220 degrees C/425 degrees F then remove from oven, add toppings and put back in oven for 10-12 minutes until toppings are hot and crust starts to brown.

I have heard people just flouring their hands well to get the dough rolled out but that never works for me. The dough is too sticky. Olive oil works great for me and lends a nice light coating to the dough.

This is really easy and the worst thing is the waiting for 1 hour and 20 minutes, but you can do all the topping prep during that time so it is ready to go when the crust is done.

Might seem like a very late thanks, but thank you. I'm using this recipe tonight. Making a vegan pizza with Roma tomatoes, mushrooms, red peppers, banana peppers and Cheezly. I was planning on putting some red onion, but I was rushing and forgot to.

awesome pizza dough recipe....i have recently fallen in love...lol...with my bread maker and use it for everything and this is a great one for pizza dough...

hey sleepy no onion, no cheezly and that would be an awesome pizza...hehe:surprised
