Nope no eating of fish if your a vegetairan or vegan.
Fish is a meat but there is a diet out there for people who only eat fish as a meat.

Ha ha..you'd think.. until people start whining and throwing their dictionaries at each other, claiming their 2004 MW is more important than what all the veg socs around the world say....
But until then...

Sure they can! I see fish all the time in the produce section between the carrots and potatoes. I know farmers who grow fish right beside their wheat and corn. Just comes out of the ground on a stalk. Fish is totally a plant. Whoever thinks fish is an animal product is stupid!

Lmao.
Gotta find me these fishplant seeds.
Yup. The fish are about nine feet tall now out here in Iowa's "fish country" -- were loosing a lot of them to the drought though-- except those pesky sharks-- gotta take a weed-wacker to them.

What Schoska said. Vegetarians do not eat fish. :) You certainly CAN eat whatever you want but technically you would not be a vegetarian according to the definition of the word. It's the same with everything else. People call themselves a lot of things but change the meaning to suit themselves.
What is this Pescatarians nonesense anyway!! I suppose at leaast they are avoiding cows etc. As far as I am concerned anything that feels pain deserves to be left alone, not fed through a machine and onto my dinner table!!!

;)I love it!
Seriously, though, there's a root vegetable called "oyster plant", so named because it supposedly has an oyster-like taste. It's also called Salsify. I grew some a few years back but evidently my soil doesn't grow root vegetables very well... they were pretty small. I sliced and sauteed a few, but they didn't taste oyster-like. Or maybe I just don't remember what oysters taste like.
Salsify flowers are beautiful though, so it wasn't a total loss. The general shape of the flower is like a dandelion, but it's about 3" across, and a sort of purple or indigo color.

I see eating fish as an intermediate step to being full-blown vegetarian. I'm still eating fish once a week. I just can't let go of everything at once. I'm going to start working on fish in a few more weeks.

Sure! I gave up meats one at a time as well. It's just very important to remember that while you can eat whatever you want, you can't eat whatever you want and still call yourself a vegetarian.

Perfect. :) I like "mostly vegetarian" because it signifies to people that you're trying, while pescatarian makes it seem like you've made a decision to stay where you're at. I mean, there's nothing wrong with a pescatarian, but it just implies a different meaning than someone who is trying to stop eating fish.

I would assume that the pescatarian's "nonsense" is the attempt to eat as ethically as they can for them, and prolly shouldn't be bashed for it.
besides, the dairy and egg industry causes a whole mess more suffering.

Totally. Where do you think they get fish sticks from?

Oh, they explode?! I always thought it was because they loved being milked so much, and farmers are just nice like that. :smitten:

Some people aren't vegetarians for ethical reasons. Ever think of that?

I'm pretty sure Ethos knew this when he posted that fish should not be eaten. It's his opinion, and if you dont ever share your opinions with people who don't agree you won't ever change anyone veg... Omnis dont eat ethically but sometimes vegs can convince them to
did that make since? I felt like I was going on and on....
