Hello, i am 22, female, student, animal lover and a new vegetarian. For 21 years i lived in Miami, Florida and now i live in Fort Worth, Texas. It's kind of hard living in places were people love eating meat but i am determined to succeed. Anyone of this area who knows good vegetarian places to shop or to eat out please let me know. :sunny:

I Know what you mean I live an hour away from you (Waco)! Texas is not known for their vegetarian ways, with all the steak houses everwhere..lol. Did you know Austin is on the top 10 vegetarian cities in the U.S.? Well i know that's far but for me I just go to walmart and buy vegetarian food there. Welcome to the boards.

I know how you feel as I live in Dallas. Eating out is fun and I have not had any problems at restaurants. I mostly eat vietnamese, chinese, thai, and indian food. You can also find veg choices at Tex-Mex places as well. Good luck with your decision to eat healthier and be kinder to the environment and animals. If all else fails you can cook at home :eek:

Welcome- you could try and do a google search for vegetarian restaurants in your area. I'm sure you would find something! :chef:

well its good to know that Austin is veggie friendly, in case i travel there one day.
