Ok so as you all may know a law is being passed in cali that states the cleaning of all pitbull breed dogs. This is a horrible way to deal with a problem and what i dont understand is that although we are over seas throwing lifes infront of bullets our so called goverment needs to (improve) by killing thousands of animals and destroying thousands of families this ubsurd and can well be a means of keeping people busy and focusing on unrelating problems when infact, meldicracy remains the killer.(come voting say no!)im to young to vote but not inof to make a difference)VIVA LA REVOLUTION!

We also have a pitbull and I know how upset the ban makes you. Personally, our family will not be getting rid of or putting our dog down if a pitbull ban comes here.

The ignorance of some people pisses me off. I don't have the energy to rant now, so read some previous rants:

I haven't heard about this - can you point me to an article. I know legislation was recently put forth about fines if your dog isn't fixed, but that's all . . .

Yes please. I haven't seen anything of the sort being propositioned in California. . . . maybe in different cities because I think that San Fran attempted to do that.

yes i live in very close to the city and the law was taken into thought by the city im sure it was over ruled thoe
We have a law here against pitbulls (a town in Iowa) but that does not mean they come to your house and kill your pit bull. You are allowed to keep your pit bull if you have one, but no one can get a new one within city limits. You need to keep it in a safe fenced yard or tied. You need to buy a lot of insurance to cover it. I'm not sure you need to get it fixed. There are lots of lovely well trained pit bulls, just like there are ill mannered people biting golden retrievers.

Pit Bull Rescue Central has a section of their website devoted to all of the Breed-Specific Laws across the country. You can see it at http://www.understand-a-bull.com/
In California there is no law getting rid of pitbulls. There is a dangerous dog law, and mandatory spay and neuter for certain breeds, but all of that is a very good thing.
The place with the worst law is probably Denver, Colorado where they really will come to your house and confiscate your dog, with no grandfather clause.
My own city has breed-specific laws too, but I've come to the conclusion that they aren't worded well enough to actually do anything. So, I'm not worried about owning a pit mix, since our own law only applies to pure breed "American Pit Bull Terriers".
