OK I'm not in UK but I visit every now and then. I'm actually considering a trip to Blackpool. ;) Seriously! :D Anyway, I mostly only go to London, and the next time I go, I want to hear everything anyone can possible tell me about finding vegan shoes! I found lots of good info on the web, but sadly most of it was out of date. I know there's Vegetarian Shoes in Brighton, but what about shoe stores in London? Any chance I could find something?

Also here's the two links I have on vegan London. If anyone has more, please post them! :)

Woohoo. Tell me if you are coming to Blackpool. Though I wouldn't advise it myself, what with Blackpool being a tacky place. However, I did stumble upon a vegan hotel in Blackpool not so long ago. I drove past it.

But it's be cool to have a Finnish chick in Blackpool!

Vegan hotel? I don't get it?! You mean they serve vegan breakfast or what? Or don't the other hotels in Blackpool accept vegans as guests? :D

I dunno pyrsk, but I've seen a vegan hotel place in Blakcpool. Not in the centre, but it's there! I dunno what it's like or anything, except it's a hotel with loads of animal rights posters up, and stuff like that, as well as the word "VEGAN" in huge letters.

But hey, It shocked me. Especially since I haven't found a single vegetraian restaurant in Blackpool. I dunno if it's open or what. I just caught a short glimpse as I drive past.

I'm from good Ol' Blighty, too. Woking, when I'm not at Uni... and Surbiton, during term time.

It's quite easy being a vegan around here. We have lots of cool health food stores and restaurants. Trouble is, in Woking, there's only a Holland and Barrett... which tends to be hideously expensive. *snarl*

Loki that sure sounds interesting. If and when I decide to come to Blackpool, I'll ask you about the details. Weird! :D It'd be great to stay at a vegan hotel though :D

lol. i'm a true northener. I have a friend who is a londoner, and we qrgue very much on how to pronounce words like "nougat" "scone" and "castle"

Northerners say "nugg-et" "sk-on" and "cass-el" but
southerners say "Nu-gart" "skown" and "cars-ul

dammit those southerners are weird!

I don't say "nu-gart", or "skown".. but then, I am kinda weird.

Apparently the scariest rollercoaster in the UK is there. Or something.

I used to get Blackpool and Blackmoor (the high-security prison) confused as a child. And I wondered why my grandparents seemed so shocked when I asked to go to the latter :D

Jacfong - are there any good health food stores in London that you'd recommend? Whenever I go up, I can only find Holland & Barrett on Oxford St. I bet there are realllly good ones in Central London, I just don't know where any of them are!

I'm from Liverpool originally but now live in York, and agree that southerners talk funy! York's quite good as far as health food stores and stuff go, but I think I've said that all before....

I'm in Kent. Near Canterbury.

London is heaving with veganity. Covent Garden- Neal's yard is a good first stop. London Vegans web site has a zillion links.

Brighton is hot for vegans.

I buy my shoes from shoeshops, mucho cheapo. They certainly aren't leather, I couldn't speak for the glue.
Got 2 pairs of lovely vegan hiking boots from a vegan shoeshop in Axminster.

gazumper: sorry for the late reply. i have been busy with exams lately. anyways my fave shop is planet organic on tottenham court road. a lot of the food is veg*n friendly and in fact, that is where i get most of my things. they also have a small books and mags section as well as a health and beauty section, and toiletries etc. the ready cooked food and juice bar are really good - all the cooked food is veg*n and u can also ask them which are vegan, as well as what exactly is in a dish. plus it's organic. there is a branch in westbourne grove but i don't go there so i can't comment. the other good one is fresh and wild in soho, other branches in camden and notting hill though i only go to the soho one. it's really good too and is much like planet organic. like someone else pointed out, neal's yard in covent garden is good too. there is a restaurant/cafe as well as a health and beauty shop.

hope this helps?
