Are you from anywhere near Sheffield? I'm moving there in September hopefully if I got my grades!
Ooh and I found this cosmetics/toiletries site through an ad on here, free postage and packaging and vegan stuff! http://www.lucyrose.biz/
And for anyone in Newcastle (nearly all of us, hehheh?) , downstairs in the new Greenmarket (it's moved to a different bit of Eldon sq, behind Mk One) I found a place called Fresh Deli which does mostly vegan toiletries and seems nice (only a few things have goat's milk in and the woman was really helpful when I went in, but I did have a huge rucksack on my back!).

Grand Basset Griffon Vendéen. :D The dog in the photo is actually the 2006 Top Stud Dog of the breed.
I'm not boasting about my dog or anything! :p
GBGV's only came off the rare breeds register this year. Do you watch Crufts? If you do Jessica Holm breeds GBGVs. :D We went this year and we spoke to her. This is part of the conversation. (She was holding one of her dogs at the time.)
Us: We actually have one.
Jessica Holm: Really. Who?
Us: Debucher Xtrovert.
Jesssica: Oh Bertie's a lovely dog!
WOW!!! :D :D :D She knows our dog!!

WOW, i thought he looked like a Basset Griffon Vendéen.. they've got great facial expression. I'm a fan of the petite version. I would like a PBCV but unless there is one available in a shelter i won't be getting one.
I used to watch crusfts when i was in the uk, i don't know if i've seen it on tv here (in the US), but i do watch dog shows here.
I'm very impressed with your dog! Beautiful animal.

Holland & Barrett may be your best bet for the specialist vegan stuff. Tesco and Asda are fine for the odd carton of soymilk or tub of tofu. :D
Julian Graves also stock stuff like Vegan Fruit Pastels, but their labelling can be misleading so be cautious. :)

thanks :D
Julian graves is good for cheap seeds and dried fruit. Sainsburys even do their own vegan soymilk chocolate bars.

Assuming you are talking about more than just fruit pastels. How do you figure that? Are you talking about symboless packets of stuff?
GOOD:
As far as I know the thing to watch for the better, is that ONLY the vegan friendly (from manufacture to shelf) with ALL the symbols on packs, are the only products you know to be garanteed as vegan or whatever symbol if on it applies, and all the symbols you could want are there on many of their fruits or packs or nuts etc,....
BAD: (or NOT NEARLY SO GOOD)
However they do make fruits, nuts, whatever~ that have packs unlabelled with these symbols and those are ones you might have to watch, as they may have been manufactured alongside things which are not vegan possibly. I was told pretty much this by a particular branch of Julian Graves local to me by somebody whom I pressed for answers, so what I am telling you is assured to be the truth.

We've got a Julian Graves, I shop in there sometimes but it's a bit pricey to do all the time.
We had about 1 - 2 feet of flood water here (Bucks), but it went down quite quickly. No where else in the county flooded like that, it's because we're in a valley and have a canal system.

Its ok if you stick to buying just offer price specials on rotation promotion.

so what you're saying is both you are cursed and not cursed because the canals help channel away or absorb some of the flooding of the valley as a whole?

Its like a HFS but not good, it doesn't have much nice food and it has lots of gelatinous sweets. I don't think there are that many stores, they do hae a website though.

I imagine the canals help with the water levels overall, but they did mean we got about 2 ft of water when they overfilled. But it went down quickly, unlike the flooding elsewhere, so...I'm not sure. Would those areas have flooded so bad if the canals hadn't been there? But then would the rest of the town be having problems? No clue.

We don't have any canals around here for some reason, so lots of villages surrounding us are still flooded now eventhough it's not been raining for days... up until today :brood:
