Is anyone going to the Incredible Veggie Show in London on 30th June or London Vegan Fest on 19th August? I really want to go to both, but i'm aprehensive and don't know what to expect.

Many thanks

I'm planning to goto the London Vegan Festival on the 19th August. You should go if you can, they're not intimidating or anything and it's a great excuse to eat free food and stock up on vegan goodies and meet like minded people. Also even if you spend 10 minutes there it's only £1 and then you can go and spend a few hours in the new wholefoods that just opened nearby which btw is one step from being heaven, 5 kinds of vegan chocolate spread! what more can i say

I'd go, but London's pretty darn far south. :)

I'm going to have to settle for the Glasgow Vegan Roadshow thing in September!

Fellow Brits will probably be aware of today's scientific report which makes a devastating case against the use of badger culling as a means of controlling bovine TB in cattle.

The fight is not over yet though. The Minister responsible for making the final decision on whether or not to allow farmers to cull badgers, David Miliband, is yet to make a decision. (He says that a decision will be made on 'all the available evidence' - how much more evidence does he need for goodness sakes!) The farming lobby is up in arms and putting tremendous pressure on the Minister to allow badger culling in spite of today's report. The Badger Trust, which as fought so long and so hard against badger culling, needs your help to take the fight to its conclusion and ensure that badger culling is consigned to the history books. Please:

* Make a donation to the Badger Trust (http://www.badgertrust.org.uk/content/j-Donate.asp)

* Sign this petition (http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/nobadgercull/)

* Sign this petition too! (http://www.blackandwhite.info/php/petition.php)

* Write to David Miliband and firmly (but politely) urge him to rule out badger culling in light of the overwhelming case against it contained within the final report of the Independent Scientific Group. Contact details as follows:

Rt Hon David Miliband MP
Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs

A big "thank you" on behalf of the badgers!

Help Stop the proposed UK Government cull of Badgers Wednesday, 2:29 PM

To: All British Citizens who care about Badgers

The UK Government is considering a badger extermination programme which is cruel and inhumane and has no scientific justification. It is the result of relentless pressure from lobbying groups from the farming industry.

Millions of pounds has been spent on research into Badger Culling and there is scientific evidence that it actually increases the occurrence of TB in cattle. It is time to put funding towards finding a Cattle vaccine for TB. This is the only sure way of eradicating the disease.

Badgers are protected by law in the UK. Large scale killing of badgers would result in their extinction and is contrary to the Bern Convention which Britain has signed.

To sign a Petition against the gassing and snaring of badgers, and for more information visit
http://www.blackandwhite.info

Please tell your friends and colleagues to do the same.

Thank You

Looks nice and colourful and yummy but expensive! I would also wonder whether they know Quorn isn't vegan though as the ratatouille has vegan option by it, wonder if they just take out the cheesy bits but leave the sausages...definitely check that. For a birthday treat it might be good though!

I'm hungry dammit...and it was my birthday in February. I have just had my last proper exam though (my real last one is a 3-hr Advanced Extension Biology thingy on Tuesday which I don't need) so will probably be having some kind of vegan meal out in Newcastle with my mum (she went fully vegan at the same time as me!), possibly Bob Trollops as they have a better vegan menu now!

Ooh wow cool :)

Haha i didn't even look at the prices... tis a bit :-/ It says to tell them if you're vegan, so i'm guessing they are able to adjust the meals. If anyone knows anywhere else good to eat out around hereford/worcester let me know! (i don't eat out much lol!)

I should know you shouldn't I..... ((Doh!!))) as you're living in the same county as me, lol. :dizzy:
Sadly or no, I don't know any vegan eateries as I am not a gregarious eater with my distaste for eat out food outlets.

I lived in Herefordshire for a couple of years a few years ago! I remember there was a lovely salad bar take away on a street parallel to the street with the big department store, and near/opposite the back door of McDonalds (funnily enough). It's also near to the Dinosaw Market.

The church nearer the centre precinct with the huge steeple and adjacent to Bank Street did veggie food - though not all veggie. Lovely surroundings there too!

I also remember a pasty shop on that same one way road which had lovey veggie pasties.

And (oohhhh drooool, it's all coming back to me) a lovely wee cafe off a pedestrianised street where the health food shop is - and other shops - a bead shop and a fabric shop etc - which was quite pricey - but sold veggie food.

Deeelish!

Vegetarian guest house in Hereford serves vegan meals. http://www.hermitholidays.co.uk/index.shtml give them a call.

As far as that other place, I would worry about getting a vegan meal from a restaurant where the chefs think Quorn is vegan.

^^^Hello..... why did yoooooh go to America and live in Ohio ? have you lived in any other state other than Ohio or feel as though you have? having been around possibly?

I moved here about a year and a half ago. My parents moved here about 4 - 5 years ago and i stayed in hull to go to uni. i came here because i didn't have a job or anywhere to live in england, and my mam missed me and wanted me to move.

I've only lived in ohio in the US but have visited a few different stated. I loved new york city and i love california, visiting san fransisco hopefully later this year.
