I'm up for it. I've never heard of that resturant, but looking it up, it does look good :lick: If we do go there remind me to bring a lot of money, I plan on eating half the menu

222 is FAB and the chef is really nice. Everything on the menu is vegan!!! We went there yesterday when we went in for a taping of the show Have I Got News For You and we'll go again saturday when we go into London to see Equus. Woohoo!

One way of doin the guitar strap thing is to make your own. Get an old pair of jeans, and sew your own from the denim.
Not tried it, but I'm probably going to give it a go. A friend of mine has done it though, and it looks cool.
Cheers. Could be cool. hmmm, now comes the tough decision of which of my jeans to kill!! :O
So...
Any of you UK ladies up for a girls' day out? Reading about llamapower and isowish meeting reminded me of how often I think "we really should get together with...."

Anyone up for a pahtay?
Dependant on location etc. i'm up for it.
As for 222 veggie vegan, i went there on saturday, the food was good, though thir idea of falafel is laughable. Also they need to mark their menu more clearly regarding gluten free options. But overall the food was nice and the staff were really friendly, i'd go again.
Yay! If any of the Northerners are interested, what would be a good time for you?

I'm not sure whether I want to commit to a meetup just yet due to money, time, distance, etc, but if there's a group of you planning something, I'll let you know whether I'll be there once you've decided on everything? I think that's easiest. I'm ridiculously indecisive and I don't want to slow down your planning only to then decide I wont be there :p

Wow it's a gorgeous day...darned work and VB...
I am definitely up for a veg*n party in London if it's in the summer...I was actually thinking of going myself when I have free time and visiting some of the vegan places on VeganLondon, but I wasn't sure about going on my own so this is kinda perfect if it works out!
The menu looks really nice at 222, I would also love to check out Pogo, they seem to have a winter menu up at the moment so it might be different but pumpkin and spinach lasagne, yum!
As for the party bit (not that being vegan isn't a party anyway) I don't know what people were thinking but I have wanted to go to the Synergy Project for a long time since I saw flyers for it in a local record shop.
http://www.thesynergyproject.org/
I don't know if it's been discussed on here before but it's a big non-commercial club night at the SeOne club with a huge range of goings on including loads of different music styles and world stuff, workshops and ethical policies. Like a festival in a club basically, or at least it sounds that way. It doesn't seem to have future dates but the next one is in May and I think they're every two months, so there should be one in July which would be ideal...anyone fancy it? I'm excited now...:guitar:
Yayness.

Tescos have a vegan easter egg.... it's discounted now too. Looks kinda nice.
Has anyone tried Tesco's hotdogs? I had some for tea tonight, they're very realistic! Not sure if they're vegan or not though.

I've tried some, and I thought they were pretty good. I managed to get myself a crapload of Tesco veggie products for nothing a few weeks back, and they're slowly disappearing as I work away at eating them all.
I just had one of their quorn burgers five minutes ago. Nothing beats a quorn burger when you're just home from clubbing, steaming drunk, and have the munchies.

id be up for whatever probably!
depending if im not suffering with exams or resits or whathave you. which is ummm may/june then sometime in august (have a resit cause i was temporarily brain damaged at christmas so couldnt do an exam)
everyone should use megabus or megatrain, they are the best everrrr.
I just got home from london today, why did i not have time to check VB - i wouldve dragged everyone to this 222 place instead of some bland curry place in twickenham =(
oh well i'll be back in summer anyway!
llamapower, that looks like an interesting event.
<<not sure she's hip enough to attend :shy:
early July would be a good time for me, too.

I urge everyone who can to go see Equus in the West End. We saw it last night and it was phenominal. The horses were so frightening and surreal and the scene where he blinds them frightening and heart wrenching. It was so good.
We had nosebleed seat--row J of the Grand Circle --you couldn't get any higher--and then we still saw an excellent show.
See it if you can! (and you get to see Daniel Radcliffe in the nip!)

i had Green and Blacks Maya Gold easter egg (vegan)... it was sooo nice!
i'm pretty sure most of Tesco's vegetarian range are not vegan. i had a check a couple of weeks back through the vegetarian food fridge at my local Tesco (Ealing, West London) and found only 2 vegan friendly products, both Linda McCartney (Deep Country Pies and a box of Sausages). i was quite deisappointed to be frank!

I'm going to see Equus in July I believe, a friend has paid for my ticket because it's her birthday outing and I paid her way on my birthday, so woo!
I'm in my last year of A-levels so after exam time is good for me too, although I'm going on holiday the er...somewhere near the beginning of July. I'll have to check dates

I had some of those hotdogs when i was l/o- seem to remember there being a LOT of egg in them
i couldnt manage it, tasted too realistic - well what someone who hadnt eaten a hotdog for 10 years counted as realistic haha

Green and Blacks by the way are owned by either Nestle or Cadburys now , can't remember which one.
Nestle are evil animal testers and human baby killers-
http://www.babymilkaction.org/pages/boycott.html
G&B is owned by Cadbury:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/4543583.stm
Nestle just recently acquired Gerber Foods. I'm scared to see what will happen in the Third World now. :(
llamapower

I'm sure it's Cadbury's not Nestlé (whose products I also boycott)...if it was Nestlé the shop where I work wouldn't still stock it...and I think I heard it was Cadbury's. I don't know much about Cadbury's ethics though, I used to buy a lot of their choc before I went vegan but that's about it.
I think I might contact the Synergy Project to see if they have an actual date for July so we can be clearer if people want to go...it looks like an amazing night, I think it might cost about £15 but it goes on until about 4am and there is so much stuff going on, and loads of alternative people! I'm sure you are hip enough to go Jen, you're vegan for a start (you are vegan, right? I can't exactly remember but guessed from your propolis comments...). Vegans have all the fun!

oops sorry jen didn't see your G&B post while I was writing mine.
Do they use real horses in Equus by the way? And do they get really frightened? Hmm...
I think there's food and drink in some of the rooms at Synergy as well, and I'm sure they'll be vegan-friendly, if not all vegan...it really seems like a festival, I can't contain my excitement! :bobo: Somebody come with me...

No the horses are like this (although this production's masks were better)

Ah ok I like it now! I didn't think you would be advocating horse-frightening but I thought I had seen promo shots with real horses, I must have been imagining it.

What do you think about a possible London meet-up in the summer Spider? I'm really excited about the Synergy project now and vegan cafés but I don't know about everyone else.
