Pirate Ferret - I ordered the chocolate cake mix off of this UK site and it was pretty good, cheap and arrived quickly - http://www.veganstore.co.uk/.
You have to make your own filling and icing, but I just whipped up some "butter" icing and filling.
Look at what the Easter Bunny brought us..vegan eggs! We even found them at a regular ol' grocery store (Waitrose), not the hfs, marked as vegan!
Happy Bunny Day! :rabbit: :)
btw..it has now become one of my goals in life for IS and I to take a picture in which we both look normal, at the same time. *sigh*

How cute you two are!!!! How cool to find some vegan chockies at waitrose. But as Spiderman pointed out--that should have had Lisa not Bart on the cover.
I got some dark chocolate covered brazil nuts so I am a happy bunny.
You two look so happy together. IS--when did you grow that beard so long??

I got the bart one too!!!!!!! cheers mum hehe.
Aint eaten it yet
I bought a moulding kit. unfortuantely it had milk chocolate, icing with milk in (err why... its a yellow tube one), and decorations with cochineal in so um.... yay to just the mould haha. I made a dark chocolate egg and shall eat that later! I'll make my dad the skanky free ingredients egg maybe, or my sisters boyfriend. or someone else
Shantih - cheers!
I saw that brand in the health food shop (cant forget a name thats almost organ hehe), it had "Just add egg!" and didnt have dairy free on the box so i presumed it wasnt vegan and didnt bother checking. Shall go back and get it soon =D

I got two dark chocolate vegan eggs - Green&Blacks Maya Gold and one by some folks called Kinnerton who I hadn't heard of before. My mum and step-nan managed to find them all by themselves, I'm proud of them
Love the first photo Jen
*chuckle* apparently, I was really excited about our Easter eggs.
Yeah..it should've been Lisa on the front. It's lucky that it was Bart though I suppose, because IS said that he should eat that one because it was the "boy egg" If Lisa had been on the box, then perhaps he would've deemed it a "girl egg" and I would've had to eat them both. ;)
pf..is a "moulding kit" where you make your own chocolate egg? I've never seen that before.

Yessss mould your own egg!
you can get the moulds on ebay
all you do is melt any old chocolate, then put a thin layer in the moulds and wait for it to dry. then do a few layers, then once dry pull it out of the mould and 'glue' the 2 sides together
id take a photo but mines gone already hehe. you can get the moulds on ebay! mine came from waitrose (i saw it in sainsburys in bristol, but couldnt find one in london then my mum did- after i shelled out a fiver on ebay [cry])

I am in the process of gorging on a Green and Blacks organic easter egg!!.
Kinertons dairy free egg is lovely too.
Easter... I got myself a Green&Blacks egg, and some random bars of vegan chocolate.
I've been lapping up the chocolate. However, I must admit that one of my firm beliefs is that our society's lack of a "Tesco Value Creme Egg" shows that we have yet to reach our full potential.

Definitely Bristol, Brighton, London and Totnes.
I'm off to waitrose tomorrow in the hope they have reduced vegan easter eggs. I can't believe they marked 'mainstream' easter eggs suitable for vegans so clearly, the world is certinly changing.
As for easter egg moulds i have some from way back when, but Lakeland are selling them currently and they're not expencive (http://www.lakeland.co.uk/product.aspx/easter!9239). I keep meaning to try and make my own cadberry creme eggs with mine, i miss them so much :(
Oh on the subject of chocolate, has anyone tried that vegan white chocolate? I found it the other day and got all excited, i shouldnt of done, it's disgusting. It's way too sweet and has a funny after taste. I want to make my own but i cant seem to find cocoa butter anywhere.

Mmm, I just had some of my Kinerton chocolate and it's really nice. Quite creamy actually, they must use soy milk or something extra in it from normal dark chocolate :smitten:

I just discovered Kinnerton the other day in the form of easter eggs, a frozen food shop had it stocked and the box has "vegan" on it in big letters. I mean I'm standing about a meter away I saw the word vegan, that was funny. I don't buy silly stuff like easter eggs though. And btw I don't think all Kinnerton chocolate etc is vegan. www.kinnerton.com Check their FAQ.

I just bought a Kinnerton egg (which comes with a bar of choc as well) half price in tesco yesterday, it's really nice chocolate and I had had some before but I don't think I would pay the full price for it, I always think eggs are a bit of a rip-off - the mould-your-own sounds like a good idea. Its really overpackaged too but never mind...I bought some tesco's after dinner mints as well which are vegan, yum.
So...

Are there any guitar players here? I need to get a new (vegan) guitar strap, just wondered if anyone knows where in London or online they may sell them?. You`ll save me loooooooooadsa time slunking around the backstreets searching. PM me please. Thank yeeeeeew!
One way of doin the guitar strap thing is to make your own. Get an old pair of jeans, and sew your own from the denim.
Not tried it, but I'm probably going to give it a go. A friend of mine has done it though, and it looks cool.
