Hey UKers :D
Looks like we've let our formerly-active thread die a little, eh?
Anyway, I was just wondering if *Star*Lass*, secret Geordie VBers, or visitors to the Newcastle area had been to Sky Apple Cafe? I was thinking of dragging my family along sometime, on one of the nights that it opens up as a restaraunt. I've got info on it and stuff, and the menu looks fun (if a little small), and reviewers seem to think it's nice, I just wanted a less formal view on it if anyone's been.
Yeh i've been, once for a 3 course meal in the evening, and once for a light lunch type thing. The food is really nice there, the menu is smallish yeh, but they change it quite regularly i think. I was so stuffed though the night i went for the 3 course meal, it's very filling! Make sure you book a table in advance if you're going in the evening, as it's very small in there. They don't sell alcohol, but you can take a bottle of wine with you (and/or other alcohol i presume). The only complaint i have is the service is fairly slow.
I haven't been around lately, cos i've just moved in with some friends, and we don't have the internet. I now live just around the corner from Sky Apple Cafe!!! woooo! :)

Thanks Brilliant, but I'm not a vegan!
Just wanted to quickly post that the Vegan Festival was in a word, AWESOME! :) We had a chance to meet Vheogl and friends, and even ran into her sister too. We heard some interesting speakers, from a Sea Shepherd volunteer, to someone discussing how terrorism law relates to protesting. Of course, we ate tons of good food as well.
Fun fun fun! Mark your calendars for next year. :)

Just want to add i had a great time and was nice meeting both Jen and Indian Summer :). Though i never actually managed to get to any of the talks, for some reason i always end up missing them. Ahh never mind, just gives me more of a reason to make sure i go next time. Oh and the food was great, i dont think i'm going to need to eat for a week.
