I have posted this in another section of VB but someone suggested I put it here too.
Hi,
Kelly here, I’ve been veggie for about two and a half years thanks to me lovely fiancé. I’m working on a project and would appreciate you all filling in a questionnaire by clicking on the link below and filling in a short form. This is for vegetarians, vegans and also for people that would like to become vegetarian/vegan.
Just for the cautious, this link is NOT spam/virus or any other nasty, I'm working on a website with my man (luckily he’s a web designer know-it-all!), which we hope will help people be able to find veggie products, veggie-friendly stores, restaurants, etc. We're also hoping to cover vegan products and retailers as well. Right now we're trying to work out if the idea is possible, and how best to start, which is hopefully where you people can help!
Thanks for spending time reading this and thanks in advance to people that are going to fill in the questionnaire.
The link is:

Thanks again,
Kelly
A couple of things:
1) The county I live in does not appear in the pulldown menu and there are some counties listed there that do not exist anymore.
2) How will your service differ from http://www.isitvegan.info/ ?
3) Why all the questions about computer hardware?

If you can be so good to let us know what counties are missing or don't exist then we would really appreciate it (in a pm).

At this stage we do not want to get too involved with finding fault in sites that may be similar to our own. We're confident that our project will have some unique features. So watch this space.
3) Why all the questions about computer hardware?
Our website will use quite a lot of new web technology - we want to make the site as usable, functional and flexible as possible, but we have to find out how far we're able to go.

Cool. I sure hope you aim this heavily towards PocketPC / mobile phone users for us lot that travel extensively. Dailing in Happycow in a mobile phone browser is a pain!

Hello, I am in London, v. close to the trendy, expensive but veggie friendly Spitilfields market!

Hello, I am in London, v. close to the trendy, expensive but veggie friendly Spitilfields market!
Up until June, I used to work near there in Liverpool St. Ate lunch at the Indonesian stall in Spitalfields market (peanut sauce on tofu skewers!) and bought stuff from the little healthfood shop there as well. Excellent place to live. How long have you been there?
Hi Mr. Falafel,
I have lived here for just over a decade, I know the stall you referred to but I prefer to stop off at the baked goods stall and cranberry's.
Oooh and we stopped into that Healthfood shop on Sunday as well!!!!
I try to go every Sunday, it is just nice to walk around and buy a few bits.

Yes, I've seen that advert, Star Lass. I'm lacto-ovo, but don't see how dairy is 'essential' in anyway.

Its about cheese, milk and yoghurt starlass, (LOL) ...Click the Ask Alicia and a 13 year girl asks ~I can't eat healthy foods~ and the answer from Alicia is go to the 'beauty bites' page and eat sh!t like cheese milk anad yoghurt
ps, I've not seen the advert.

I saw the tv ad for the first time this afternoon and then checked out the website. YUCK! They've had to result to ads now as the growing trend is to ditch dairy. How desperate!

I've seen about three of those ads now...quite possibly the most pointless things I've ever seen.
Is it a product or just a site telling you eat more dairy? I assumed the site was beauty tips when I saw the advert. Pretty pointless.
Ugh. I just saw one of these last night. It's a commercial telling you to eat more dairy because milk, cheese and yogurt, are like "beauty products" for your skin, teeth and hair. Models pouring milk and yogurt on themselves...um, yeah.

I hate those adverts. Even aside from any vegan issues, that's just gross.

Does anyone in the North-East area / willing to travel there have any use for a barely working camper van?
We're getting rid of it. No MOT. Tax until end of July. We're giving it away free, but it wont be a free vehicle, it will be a serious project for anyone wanting to get it on the road. 1993 Nissan Vannette Camper Van. PM me if you're interested.

The van is gone, just in case anyone was actually tempted.
Darn! (kidding)
I'm wondering if I can ask another "new to the UK" question? What kind of shampoo/conditioner do you all use? I'm got some Orignal Source stuff that is vegan, but it leaves my hair pretty weighed down. I've seen several brands at the local HFS, and grocer, and at Holland & Barrett, but I'd love some recommendations.
Isowish...have you heard/decided anything about Oxford? If you end up here this fall, you'll have to ring us (see how I'm using British English already? :P ) and we can take you out to dinner.

:p you missed a British English word. You want to hear a haiku I made up?
A Haiku For America
I'm feeling generous;
I will let you talk of 'fall'
(But it's still called Autumn).
actually, if I apply at all (I'm pretty sure I will miss grades this year) I will only be applying this autumn. And I think, wherever I go, I will apply for deferred entry. So that dinner will have to be delayed 'till 2008!

^^I hope that 'Autumn' comment didn't come out too snarky.
It wasn't meant to.
Heh. Not at all. I was just talking with my s.o. about that word actually. I went to apply for a job at a temp agency. The interviewer is taking notes about my background, skills, etc. I say to her something like "so, I'm just looking for something to keep me busy until the fall" (when I hope to be teaching). The interviewer keeps scribbling, nodding her head, but then she pauses for a second and says "and your Fall is Autumn, correct?" I said yes, but had to stifle a giggle.
