I've been to a few over the years. The best one ever was a vegan half marathon weekend where loads of people all stayed in a caravan site together and celebrated after the run, ( i don't run!)
The vegan summer holiday camps are really nice too.
found these at vegan village

Heart of England Vegan Festival!
Realfood are organising the Heart of England Vegan Festival for the 18th of June next year, to be held in Birmingham. We have just updated the festival website, and encourage people to check it out regularly, as things are changing all the time. We have already booked twenty stalls out of a maximum of eighty - so move fast if you want a place. This event looks like it is going to be massive. www.veganfestivals.org.uk

I was at the Animal Aid fayre on yesterday. Had a good time stocking up all on my old favourites as well as buying a few new products.
Redwoods were cooking up some samples of their current range (nice to try the salmon pate which was much nicer than I'd imagined, as was the cranberry cheezly - ideal for xmas gatherings) and things which should be hitting the shelves soon (falafels and scnitzels).
I always prefer to try on shoes before I buy so we arrived early to try to beat the crowds - though sadly the boots I was after were sold out in my size by 10.30am, so everyone must have had the same idea!
However, it was a shame to see that ALF had been barred.

I will almost certainly be at this one (given that it is only a couple of miles from where I live!)
ah crap, they aren't havin ganother northwest one for abit, they're alternating between the midlands and the northwest each year.
I'm still awaiting for a blackpool vegan festival, although my home town is one of the most uncultured places in britain. I find it hard to believe there's a single vegan in this town. I don't understand why they said that macclesfield is the most uncultured place in britain. Whoever was judging has never been to blackpool.

I tried the fish-less fingers, they were disgusting, i spent the next 10 minutes searching for something to take the taste away. I guess I'm not used to fish anymore, i didn't dare brave it and try the salmon pate.
Btw does anyone know if it's possible to still get hold of the BBC Vegetarian magazine? I've been looking for it everywhere, does anyone know if they've cancelled it or something?

i got the BBC goodfood vegetarian christmas magazine thingy. It's a bit of a one-off though. i never knew the bbc had a vegetarian magazine.
There are a couple of good recipes in the vegetarian christmas magazine. Most of it is cheese based, to my annoyance.

The bbc did have a vegetarian magazine as far as i know anyway, i've seen if a few times in shops but not recently.
And is the bbc good food vegetarian special a separate magazine or part of the actual good food magazine?
It's an actual magazine. A whole magazine full of vegetarian recipes & stuff. it's pretty much a one off though. I got it at WH smith. I'm kinda pissed off because I can't get hold of a private eye magazine anymore from there.

Hi there! I am Mary, from Realfood, and there are, believe it or not, other vegans in Blackpool. Although I am now in the Midlands, my family still live in Blackpool, so at least occasionally when I visit family (or when my son does) you know you are not alone.
Seriously, if you are looking for vegans in Blackpool, let me know, and I will try to muster the masses for you. Have you thought of putting on a small vegan food fair? That is how we started our local Wolverhampton group, and look at us now! Planning to take over the world...
Hey, hope to see Blackpool folks at the Heart of England Vegan Festival. There should be enough vegans there for you to get a mini bus together, and then you will know you are not alone!
Mary
I'm just an ovo-lacto myself. However, i tend to avoid a lot of dairy foods and eat vegan quite a bit, mainly because I dislike cheese. But the good thing about vegan food is that everyone can enjoy it!
I've joined lancsveg, so I'm with a few other veg-heads around the area. I'll have to bring up this vegan festival with them though, see if they're interested!
i'm from newcastle under lyme in staffordshire ^^
wish i could drive so i could visit the various festivals and fates around :o sound like fun.
i found out (i'm not sure if it's still there) but theres a vegan society in my village, anyone know what they actually do? all i've got is an address.. no website or any extra info.. just really curious about it ^^;;
ah i always wanted to go to london, it's always seems like a great place.

I'm from Durham
Yeah that nice city with the nice cathedral and the rubbish nightlife.
Durham is great if you like cathedrals and castles though.
Anyone know of any vegetarian groups etc. in Durham or close to it that I could join?

Hi Ilikequorn! I'm from Newcastle. I don't know of any vegetarian groups in the Durham area, but there is one that meets up where i live. I haven't met up with them yet, but i intend to soon. :)

So... you're from Newcastle.
I shop in Newcastle occasionally. I like the Forbidden Planet Shop (for the Star Trek stuff) and I also like the Green because it has some realy cool clothes shops (which I am too tight to buy anything from).

Hi Hollywillow, are you friends with Veganheart and Vegansoul in L'pool?
i live right in the middle of the uk...yep rains alot & we hardly ever get the snow :-/
ohh yay :D
which part of the middle of england (midlands?) beepingbird? did you get the christmas day snow?
I went to Lancaster for christmas and we got snow. Was kinda perfect as it started just before we opened the presents. It settled stuck around for boxing day and had melted by the next day, when we traveled back to my parents. We had some great snowball fights.
