Enough about crisps already, lets talk about another kettle of fish instead! :p *Kettle* crisps!... okay but no more, well since they're the only ones I know that do vegan (as well as vegetarian and non veg).

hey cool! so what did you think of the place?

It seemed nice enough, though as I say I didn't get much time there so I only had a quick look at the sea front near the tower before I headed off to the meeting. What I saw seemed ok if somewhat touristy, I am sure that there are nicer areas I shall have to head back sometime.

Gosh, I haven't posted here for ages!
How are all the UK-ers?
I asked ages ago, but I figured I would try again - is there anyone in the south/central london area (ok whole of london) who fancies getting together either for drinks/gigs or anything?

Hi.Where can i buy vegan friendly TVP chunks in the uk? I dont mind buying online.I have fond goodnessdirect.co.uk,but their delivery charges are out of order.

If i am to buy online i need the postage to be either free,or nearly free.

I am in London. Would go for drinks if there was a few of us...

Have you seen the new milk in holland and barrett. Tiger White. Was a bit icky in coffee but it might be cool on it's own. tasted very different to soy milk.

I got some chunks there yesterday...

Sounds like a social club brewing!! What kind of music? I recently saw Morrissey and he was marvellous! I also like a bit of fringe theatre so that's another option.

I'm in Croydon which is 20 mins into town on the train, and I'm often roaming round in London anyway.

I prefer tinned tofu to tvp in stews and casseroles, I hope everyone has tried it. It's totally different to other tofu - it is a really meaty, stringy texture. Must check out that milk . . .

I've just got back from New York and have stocked up on vegan cookies and Goldenberg Peanut Chews - heaven!!! I have put on half a stone from eating all the really amazing vegan cakes - oh and the ice cream. I really wish we had that kind of variety here.

YAY

Just to let other fans know (if they didnt already) that some Morrissey gig tickets went on sale today. These are for UK-gigs, in relatively small venues, in a months time.

Loki - One venue is Blackpool !

Morrissey has seen me 3 times this year already  so im thinking i should give some other musicians a chance...

Well FWIW I will be coming down to London on Saturday 28th August for a wedding, so I could stick around on the Sunday if some people fancy meeting for a drink then?

Well, we had a meeting a couple of months ago in the north, so perhaps it's time that there was one in the south!

it would be quite a way to travel, from Blackpool to London, so I don't think I will be coming.

Not so far though to see Morrissey at Bridlington Spa! I think that one still has tickets. All his gigs are too far for me to travel to.

I might be able to come, things are a bit hectic so I won't know for sure til nearer the time.

Did everyone see that veganstores prices for Goldenbergs Peanut Chews has come down! Great news! I got some marshmallows from them recently, very pricey - I think they were £6.99. They were okay but not to die for. Well, in the States (Manhatten and Connecticut) last week I got some brilliant ones at Wholefoods (organic supermarkets, there seem to be many branches) for just $5! And vegan cookies are in most normal shops, even in some coffee shops. Soya milk was available everywhere I tried but I didn't see any falafels at Starbucks and their coffee made with Silk isn't as nice as ours here! . . . And the vegan cakes are something else, plus such good restaurants, and a huge a choice of soya ice cream brands and flavours - I'm thinking of moving!!!

Falafel at starbucks is only in the UK, as far as I know. But damn, it is good stuff.

There's a 99% chance i won't be going to any london meetups. Travelling that far is too much hassle for me. Sorry about that, everyone!

I'd be totally up for a london meet!
Would people prefer a central location?..

kat

Central to north London is best for me, but I'm adaptable...
