1Vegan - remind me, where are you coming from??

spud

...and where is your boat landing? Harwich or Dover? Any stops on route or are you tied to your coach all the time? How long are you staying in England?

...Oblige with many photographs of the event then please!

Point, digicam or two, on the list to pack.

Speaking of photo's - easiest way to get together is to recognise people is by photo - see my avatar. Anyone going who hasn't stuck up a mugshot? I know PurpleGrrl hasn't, but she'll be with me, so just look for the breaded freak, and that's fine. Oh, and lets talk prefered modes of address. My name is Stuart, although I will respond to Syntax, Syn, Stuey, and variations on that theme.

Gathering at the WH Smiths, at the entrance to the station. Right. Looks like BlackHeart is due to be the latest arrival, at 10:06, so plenty time to get to Tib Street for 10:30.

Quick point for 1Vegan: As your arriving so early, your best bet is to head for the train station directly. The bus station is an abysmal place to wait, whilst the train station is much nicer. Plus, there were a couple of all night cafes' just outside the train station. Not particualrly veg*n, but a cup of tea/coffee, and somewhere warm to sit.

Oh, and PurpleGrrl - call me, if I don't get you first. Need to check the return time to sort out transport.

Right. We need a complete lists of names so we know who to wait for. I think the plan is for me to be outsite WHSmiths for 9.30am...(when i get home and have more time to look, i shall go back thru this thread)
Loki and Veggcore, shall i pm you my mobile number ?

nat, feel free to PM your mobile number to me. I'll shove it on my phone. I'll be there on saturday! im definitely going! We're meeting outside WHsmiths then! (The main one right next to the entrance!) I'll see what I can do to make myself distinctive! But then again, you all know what I look like. I should be there early. It reall ydepends on whether or not the rail system f**ks up. (Which as we know, is quite likely)

By the way, any ideas on veg restaurants to visit? While we're in manchester, it would be a great idea to sample some lovely vegetarian cuisine!

Note: i won't be taking a digicam, since I have tendency to lose things, andit's not my digicam. That, and it's very much thirsty for power.

Hey everyone
hope you have fun at the vegan festival but one thing......

You forgot keehar, I know he's not going now seeing as he's otherwise engaged with vegan meals and an invasion of very nice kind wonderful people ( well one of them is anyway *cough* me *cough* the rest are just mean ) but it would be nice if you'd noticed he hadnt posted. he now feels very sad and upset that you forgot him :(

P.S - The above is not my idea i was made to post this by the dear wonderful insane keehar ( he has a very strange SOH) so feel free to ignore.

EDIT: He now says it wasn't his idea it was mine, he just agreed!

oh and btw maxpower - yes sainsburys, I LOVE their freefrom range, has anyone else tried their freefrom soy chocolate bars? they're SO nice, i also LOVE there freefrom sun-dried tomato sauce!

and Loki - according to happycow.org there's quite a few veg/vegan restaurants in manchester, though i don't know what any of them are like.

Max Power, since Keehar cannot make it, would you like to come along instead? Id gladly wait for you at Manchester Airport ;)

Loki - im so f*cking poor right now so not sure if id be able to go out for a veggie feast (it might have to wait for another time!) But i will bring along suggestions nonetheless...

Loki
05-07-04, 03:24 AM
ah well. Never mind.I was hoping we could go, but I guess that might have to go on hold. We can still enjoy some low-budget fun nonetheless!

Is it just me, nat & veggcore, or have we got some mor epeople coming?

Black Heart
05-07-04, 03:47 AM
Guys, I can't go anymore. It's really annoying. I've got a thesis to write and I'm doing 12 hour days, and I'm still behind, so I can't afford to take the time out right now.

I hope you all have fun though!

natalie

Loki - i could definately handle visiting the 8th Day (on Oxford road, near the universities)....im pretty sure its open saturday afternoons. Its a cafe, restaurant (some evenings) and shop...as long as i controlled my spending i'll be okay!

Black Heart - Im sorry you cannot make it this time!

Let me know if ive missed out anyone / if the list is wrong...

soooooooooo jealous of everyone in england!!! "sainsburys" !!!!!!!

Are you taking the pee Max Power? :D

I hate and loathe Sainsbury's and any large supermarket personally.

Loki
05-07-04, 02:06 PM
I kinda like sainsbury's as a supermarket. I seldom go there, but I think they offer some good products. I just don't like certain ginger-haired chefs who feature on advertisements for sainsburys.

I should be at piccadilly about 9:20-9:40am If I'm not there, assume I've been killed.
